Provides a 25% discount off the monthly charge for energy use (regardless of what the electricity is used for). This is an ongoing program with no time limit. Applicants must re-apply each year. The program also offers ongoing arrears forgiveness for NEW ENROLLEES. Once enrolled in the program, you must call to report any changes to your household income or household members within 10 business days. Failure to report changes will make you ineligible for the program and may result in legal action against you for discounts improperly received.

The Discretionary Fund helps with small amounts of an unexpected emergency expenditure. Access to these emergency funds is limited to twice a year, once every six months, per family or individual.

Vermonters on some pharmacy-only assistance also may not qualify. Only one Lifeline discount per household. Select tracphones (prepaid phones) are being added.
