Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helping with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Provides comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages including physical exams, immunizations, and routine screenings, treatment of short-term injuries or illnesses, treatment of chronic illnesses, minor surgery and office procedures, gynecological exams, contraception, care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, and other special programs. Provides youth employment services that include vocational testing and assessment to help identify skills, talents and experience; career guidance to help plan and map out a career strategy; tutoring and study skills training; summer employment opportunities; paid work experience including internships and job shadowing; leadership development opportunities; and support services to help overcome employment barriers.

Assists individuals in completing applications for benefits, including housing applications, child care tuition subsidy application, health care application, disability applications, and application for financial assistance from Vemont Division of Economic Services. Assists with attempts to access local and state emergency financial assistance when applicable. Personal budgeting counseling sessions are offered and made available to all individuals seeking financial assistance.

Provides primary police services for approximately 200 Vermont towns out of 10 barracks throughout the state. Troopers perform traditional police services of traffic enforcement and the investigation of crimes, and also enforce snowmobile and recreational boating laws.

Provides an online scam tracking map as well as a helpline for individuals to report scams and fraud, and to see what has been reported in their area. Also provides fraud prevention resources such as tip sheets, podcast, and videos on how scams work and how to recognize and avoid common scams.
