Programs for health maintenance and public health awareness services are also offered. Coordinates and supports provision of non-emergency medical transportation through local transportation programs to health and wellness appointments.

Also offers seasonal Farm to Family coupons that can be used at farmers markets and farm stands, and free seed packets for summer garden plantings. Offers an education savings plan with tax advantages designed to help families set aside funds for college costs. Funds can also be used for apprenticeships and student loan repayments.

Provides assistance for people who need housing including information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to provide for insurance, utility costs, and other requirements related to paying for housing. Coordinates with other providers in the community to help individuals and families obtain or maintain housing. May offer limited financial assistance with rent, rental deposit, and other payments. Also provides the Rent Right Program, designed to provide participants with the skills, materials, and confidence necessary to find and maintain stable housing. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a Preferred Renter Certificate, which shows landlords that they have made an investment into being a good tenant.

Provides comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment services that include substance use disorder counseling, medication-assisted treatment, integrated medical and behavioral services, treatment and counseling for individuals with co-occurring disorders, and psychiatric medication management.

Offers business advising to eligible farmers, agriculturally-related businesses (including food businesses), forest products enterprises, and forest landowners. A network of advisers provides business planning and technical assistance. The Viability Program also makes grants available on a competitive basis when funding allows.

Provides services to protect the health and safety of working Vermonters. Responsible for State-specific standards concerning permissible exposure limits, lineworker safety, VOSHA/OSHA rules, and Vermont Labor Standards. Employees may contact VOSHA to request information or to file a complaint about the safety of working conditions at their employment site. Whistleblower Protection Program protects employees who raise concerns about safety and/or health at their workplace or participate in other endeavors in the furtherance of occupational safety and health and suffer retaliation as a result. This includes the same protections for employees who report workplace injuries.

Coordinates/Provides transportation to medical appointments, as well as dental, vision, counseling, Fair Hearing, prescription pick-up, and other covered transportation services for eligible Medicaid recipients. Offers volunteer driving opportunities in Windham County.

Offers a series of health-related workshops and presentations for the community, many of which are offered by health professionals. Information about local wellness programs is provided on line and is also published in flyer form. Topics may include movement and exercise, nutrition, chronic disease self-management, and health/disease specific support group meetings.

Provides ongoing family support to all military personnel and families. Operates as a one-stop service center which provides assistance, information and referral to other agencies and organizations that assist service members and their families in both the military and civilian sectors. Services include emergency assistance, education and training, Tricare and insurance issues, ID cards, family care plans, counselor support, employer support, financial, family advocacy, legal property and household issues, reintegration and adjustment concerns.

Facilitates professional case management for individuals in need of mental health or substance abuse services. Services are provided in the privacy of their homes and both individual and family counseling are available.

Assists families in stabilizing finances during temporary emergencies, when all other resources have been exhausted or the family has been found ineligible for services. Funding is limited to $200 per family. Funds are paid directly to the vendor/business, not to the individual. Expenses may be prepaid with prior approval and then reimbursed through this fund.

Coordinates/Provides transportation to medical appointments, as well as dental, vision, counseling, prescription pick-up, and other covered transportation services for eligible Medicaid recipients. Offers community (volunteer) driving opportunities.

Pays a portion of home heating bills for households meeting income eligibility requirements. Seasonal Fuel Assistance is not designed to cover all of the costs of heating a home or apartment. Active Seasonal Fuel households are eligible for free weatherization services.

For a reduced rent, homeseekers may provide services to homeowners that include companionship, meal preparation, household chores, shopping, or yard work, but DOES NOT include medical care or personal care services. Service and financial arrangements are flexible. HomeShare Vermont provides background and reference checks, and ongoing support.

Provides restorative interventions for youth and youthful offenders involved with the juvenile justice system, at risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice system, and/or truant. Aims to decrease risk factors and strengthen protective factors in order to reduce or eliminate further involvement in the system. Offers community restorative practices.
