Provides management and surveillance of wildlife diseases including rabies, avian influenza, and chronic wasting disease. Offers a Vermont-specific rabies hotline in partnership with the Vermont Department of Health. Responds to questions and concerns about nuisance wildlife. Individuals concerned about safety due to an animal entering their home, yard, highway/road, or municipalities should contact their local police. USDA Wildlife Services offices are not public. Phone calls to local office may go directly to Rabies Hotline if no one is in office.

BUILDING BRIGHT FUTURES COUNCILS | BUILDING BRIGHT FUTURES
Provides advocacy for early childhood service delivery system improvements from local communities to both the Building Bright Futures Council and the legislature. Each council provides information about regularly scheduled opportunities for parents to participate in a wide variety of recreational activities. All councils serve as local hubs of information for early childhood and family resource networks. The Statewide BBF Council is comprised of 21 appointed members. Five members are state agency or department heads from the Agency of Human Services, the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, the Agency of Education, the Department of Health and the Department for Children and Families. Other members include two to four legislators, two business representatives, and a variety of community, health and early childhood representatives.

HEART home visitors are able to offer an array of support services, access to concrete supports, and referrals to additional programming and services. This program provides counseling, in the home, or via telemental health (online), or the office setting for mothers. For families who need a higher level of care, home visitors are able to refer families to their HEART home visiting perinatal mental health clinicians. The HEART In-Home Counseling program clinicians can address a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD following a traumatic birth experience. Works to protect the public's health by effecting changes at the environmental, policy, and systems levels. The goals of the Tobacco Control Program are to prevent youth and adults from becoming tobacco users, to support those looking to quit, and to change the overall acceptance of tobacco use. Provides information about Vermont's Smoke Free Laws: the Clean Indoor Air Act (Act 135) that provides protection from secondhand smoke by banning lit tobacco products in nearly all common areas of indoor public places and the expansion of that protection (Act 108) that restricts the use of e-cigarettes or other vaping devices, defined as tobacco substitutes, wherever smoking is prohibited. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on school grounds, during school events, at licensed childcare facilities, or in vehicles with children seven years old and younger.
