The consultation includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, information about the range of long term care support options available in their community (such as personal care, transportation and medication management) and resources that can help them pay for services. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides advice and guidance on how to identify and prevent bed bugs; information about diseases spread by ticks, including Lyme; information about mosquito-borne illnesses, including EEE, Zika, and West Nile; and information on the prevention, symptoms, and transmission of Mpox and rabies.

Informs and assists Vermont employees, employers, and members of the public regarding the laws related to, and best practices for, preventing sexual harassment and workplace discrimination.

Provides small, limited, community food services. Residents encouraged to take what they need and/or donate what they can in support of the pantry.

Provides sheltering and adoption services for stray or surrendered pets. All cats, dogs, and rabbits at the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated as appropriate, and undergo behavior modification as necessary before being adopted out. Adoption includes a voucher for one free examination with a local veterinarian.

Offers weekend retreats centered on provision of leadership development opportunities through the scope of social justice and empowerment.

Provides individualized, non-traditional, flexible, short-term assistance to help individuals stay in housing, and also links clients with a case manager or contact who can provide support throughout the time of assistance.

Offers adult education and literacy instruction that provide learners with the opportunity to acquire the education and literacy skills they need either to complete a secondary education or to better achieve post-secondary/career goals. Instruction is provided at six learning centers, as well as at job sites, libraries, homes, and other locations. Services include the following: Functional Literacy Education (Reading, Writing, Math), Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy, English Language Learning and Citizenship Preparation, High School Completion Program, General Education Development (GED) Credentialing, and Career and College Readiness.

Provides long distance bus service from Vermont to major New England cities and to some neighboring Canadian cities. Stops at several towns throughout Vermont; ticket offices are available in Brattleboro and White River Junction.

Provides a list and online map of all permanent Vermont locations where unused prescription drugs, including needles/sharps, can be dropped off throughout the year. Offers free prepaid postage envelopes for mailing in unused dry prescription drugs. Also provides information about safe disposal of needles/sharps as well as an online link to all National Drug Take Back Day sites.

Aids farmers and others who willingly house unowned cats in barns and other outbuildings, by trapping, vaccinating, spaying or neutering, and treating (if necessary), and then returning cat(s) back to their colony (group) in the wild or barn. Also offers a Working Cat program for cats who aren’t socialized enough or have other limitations for home adoption, to be placed for free in commercial or outbuilding environments where rodents are a problem. These cats are spayed/neutered and have at least rabies and distemper vaccinations. This non-traditional approach allows these cats to receive shelter, access to food and water, and the care they need while offering the service of expert rodent control to their adopters.

Provides emergency funds to pay for rent, mortgage payments, shelter, utility payments, or other household necessities.

Provides monthly supplemental nutrition assistance benefits to low-income households to purchase food. Households in which any person is younger than 65 access their benefit using a Vermont Express electronic benefits transfer (EBT) debit card. If everyone in a household is 65 or older, or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), benefits are deposited as cash into the recipient's bank account. Expedited benefits are available in emergencies and other specific situations. EBT cards may also be used to buy fresh, local products at certain farmers' markets in Vermont. A list of farmer's markets that can accept EBT cards is available on the website. In addition, 3SquaresVT benefits may be used for seeds and plants that grow fruit and vegetables at any retailer or farmer's market that accepts EBT cards.

Provides Pediatric and Adult dental services including: Teeth cleaning, exams, dental sealants and fillings, mouth guards, crowns and bridges, root canals and restorative therapies, extractions, teeth whitening, X-rays, and dentures.

Develops partnerships, coordinates volunteers and offers program initiatives that address specific issues in education, income and health. This includes the areas of financial stability; financial literacy; individual nutritional and physical well being; early learning; addiction prevention; and supporting the basic needs of housing, food and accessibility in service communities.

Provides information and education about depression and suicide to the public. Promotes professional education for the recognition and treatment of depressed and suicidal individuals and supports programs for suicide survivor treatment, research and education.

Provides in-home visitation by a registered nurse to women during pregnancy and following delivery for a mutually agreed upon period of time. Services provided to the family during this time are decided upon in partnership with the family and are particular to each family's needs and desires. Services may include healthy pregnancy information, prenatal nutrition counseling, early childhood development information, parenting education, home safety information, as well as referrals to healthcare, childcare, continuing education, job training, and other community support services.

Offers a collection of five step by step video tutorials that help individuals move through the steps of common legal and benefit issues. Tutorial topics include divorce, relief from abuse orders, security deposits, small claims, and social security appeals. Also included is a video overview on what to expect when getting ready for a court hearing.
