Constructs energy efficient, affordable homes in partnership with eligible families. The houses are sold to the partner families at cost, with no profit and no interest. Costs are kept low by using donated materials and volunteer labor.

Repairs or replaces the home's PRIMARY source of heat. This may include a boiler, electric heater, fireplace, furnace, heat pump, pellet stove, or wood stove. Provides help with application for service.

Provides family dentistry services, including comprehensive clinical care and prevention services. Comprehensive clinical care services include: preventive, restorative, extractions, crown and bridge, periodontal services and minor implant restorations. Provides urgent care services.

Provides investigation and protection services on patient abuse, which primarily includes the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly and disabled adults, as well as Medicaid provider fraud. The unit has jurisdiction when the crime occurs in any Medicaid funded facility, including nursing homes or hospitals, or in any Medicaid-funded program or setting such as home health care or community care home settings.

Assists individuals with finding local resources.

Provides advocacy and support through information and referral, education and awareness programs, and local service officers. There are local chapters in Bennington, Brattleboro, Bristol, Chester, Fairfax, Essex Junction, Rutland, and Saint Albans. Local service officers are located in Bennington, Colchester, Montpelier, and White River Junction.

Provides a program that empowers Vermonters to lead healthier lives through hands-on nutrition education. The Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is usually a six-session series held in home, school, or community settings. An online nutrition education series, Eat Smart, Move More, is also offered and participants can access lessons at their own pace while receiving one-on-one support from their closest EFNEP Educator via phone calls, zoom meetings, and emails. Topics covered may include meal planning and preparation, food budgeting with a limited income, food safety and preservation, and nutrition tips.

Provides demand-responsive, door-to-door transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities to senior meal sites, medical appointments including dialysis and chemotherapy, adult day care, employment-related appointments, social events, shopping, and other services and activities.

Provides flexibly scheduled and routed door-to-door (or curb-to-curb) transportation services. Coordinates and provides non-emergency medical transportation to health and wellness appointments, including for individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid or Senior Rides transportation programs. Offers transportation for individuals with substance use disorder to support groups, job training and access, medically assisted treatment, recovery centers, drug testing, and other services. Provides opportunities for volunteer drivers.

Provides a broad selection of recreational opportunities and leisure time activities. Also offers Community Shower Program, free access to shower facilities for people without housing.

Offers a substance free environment for peer support, educational programs, information and referral to needed services, recovery coaching, socializing, recreational activities, and meeting space for a variety of recovery workshops and meetings. Also provides a community health vending machine which dispenses harm reduction and hygiene supplies located outside on the center's grounds.

Provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient care and 24-hour emergency care. Services include 24-hour physician staffed emergency room services, diagnostic imaging, general medical and surgical services, lab testing, blood supply services, hospital-based outpatient services, disease specific treatment, pain management, adult and children's services.

Provides consumers with a federally mandated free credit report annually, fraud and identity theft services, and free credit marketing list removal (OptOut). Also offers a way to dispute information in a credit report.

Provides monthly supplemental nutrition assistance benefits to low-income households to purchase food. Households in which any person is younger than 65 access their benefit using a Vermont Express electronic benefits transfer (EBT) debit card. If everyone in a household is 65 or older, or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), benefits are deposited as cash into the recipient's bank account. Expedited benefits are available in emergencies and other specific situations. EBT cards may also be used to buy fresh, local products at certain farmers' markets in Vermont. A list of farmer's markets that can accept EBT cards is available on the website. In addition, 3SquaresVT benefits may be used for seeds and plants that grow fruit and vegetables at any retailer or farmer's market that accepts EBT cards.

Provides resource listings and links via the web for county sheriff departments, local police departments, state police offices, and other key law enforcement-related departments.

Provides ongoing, up-to-date information about national and international public health occurrences such as extreme weather events, contagious disease outbreaks, and natural disaster information.

Provides youth employment services that include vocational testing and assessment to help identify skills, talents and experience; career guidance to help plan and map out a career strategy; tutoring and study skills training; summer employment opportunities; paid work experience including internships and job shadowing; leadership development opportunities; and support services to help overcome employment barriers.

Provides community, supplemental food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations.

Provides a residential living setting that offers individual apartments for seniors and assisted living apartments with private bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms and kitchenettes. Assisted living apartments include nursing supervision, medication management, personal care, meals, and attention to individual needs.

Provides a confidential helpline staffed by trained counselors who offer crisis counseling to individuals in emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster. Counselors will provide information on how to recognize distress and the effects of disaster-related stress on individuals and families. Tips for healthy coping will be provided as well as referrals to federal, state, and regional agencies that will assist during periods of post-disaster stress. Specialized services available to the deaf, hard of hearing, and those with hearing loss.

Offers clothing and small household items at reasonable prices.

Provides recovery coaching, recovery support, and connects individuals to additional resources.
