Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helps with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Provides a visor card to help individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing communicate with law enforcement officers if they are pulled over while driving. There are tips for how officers should communicate with the cardholder, followed by options that cardholders can point to indicating how best to communicate (writing, texting, lip-reading, etc.) with them. On the back, there are graphics with one-word labels that officers can point to under “I need to see your” (license, registration, insurance, other) and “Violations.” The last section is “Help” and lists options for cardholders to show the officer what they need (medical, lost, tow, etc.).

Provides a program that empowers Vermonters to lead healthier lives through hands-on nutrition education. The Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is usually a six-session series held in home, school, or community settings. An online nutrition education series, Eat Smart, Move More, is also offered and participants can access lessons at their own pace while receiving one-on-one support from their closest EFNEP Educator via phone calls, zoom meetings, and emails. Topics covered may include meal planning and preparation, food budgeting with a limited income, food safety and preservation, and nutrition tips.

Provides information about all aspect of Vermont elections. Offers ways to check voting status, register to vote, and update name and address. Allows people to request an absentee ballot, and view a sample ballot for an upcoming election. Also offers an accessible voting system to Vermont voters with a disability. Provides information and assistance to help consumers self-advocate about utility issues, and provides a form for consumers to file complaints against regulated utility companies and billing or service related to unregulated broadband and wireless companies. Services may include information and education about how to address and resolve problems. Will also investigate, track, and attempt to resolve complaints by consumers against unregulated services such as broadband, wireless, cable modem, and Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VOIP).

Administers the registration and title of all motor vehicles. Issues Vermont license plates. Issues Vermont Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses, School Bus Driver Licenses, and Motorcycle Driver Licenses. Provides driver training information and issues ID (Non-driver) cards and Learner Permits. Provides school bus driver training information and administers scheduling for driver's license exams. Offers Vermont high school students the opportunity to enroll full time at any of CCV’s 12 locations during the fall and spring of their senior year for a combined total of 8-10 classes (24+ credits). Credits apply to both high school completion and college. Classes may be online or in-person.

Provides comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment services that include substance use disorder counseling, medication-assisted treatment, integrated medical and behavioral services, treatment and counseling for individuals with co-occurring disorders, and psychiatric medication management.

Provides an interactive decision support process that helps individuals in need of long term care and their families understand their strengths, needs, preferences and unique circumstances and weigh the pros and cons of available alternatives. The consultation includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, information about the range of long term care support options available in their community (such as personal care, transportation and medication management) and resources that can help them pay for services. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides information about climate change and health. Cold weather topics include shoveling and heart attacks, what to do if the power goes out, and wood stove safety. Hot weather topics include heat safety tips and heat illnesses. Also provides a searchable map of indoor cooling centers.

Provides family dentistry services. Comprehensive clinical care services include: preventive, restorative, extractions, crown and bridge, periodontal services, and minor implant restorations.

Head Start (ages 3-5) and Early Head Start (ages 0-3) provide high-quality education, healthy meals, medical and dental screenings, and holistic support for the entire family to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Head Start also connects families to social services and resources for housing, employment, education, food, health, mental health counseling, substance use disorder, domestic violence, English as a Secondary Language, and other family needs. Space is reserved for children with special needs (hearing, speech, vision impairment, emotional or physical challenges). Families with foster children are automatically eligible. A limited number of families that exceed the income guidelines can enroll.

Offers skill-building support services that promote consumers' ability to take control over their lives, make decisions, solve problems, and speak for themselves. Provides support at social events, recreation and fitness venues, museums, parks, and educational institutions.

Provides comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages including physical exams, immunizations, and routine screenings, treatment of short-term injuries or illnesses, treatment of chronic illnesses, care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, family planning services, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, and other special programs. Provides preventive health care, as well as diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, immunizations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. Provides onsite integrated health services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities. Pediatric primary care is staffed by specialists who are concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of infants, children and adolescents from birth to young adulthood.

Provides a community-wide, coordinated effort to identify, assess and find appropriate options for homeless individuals and families seeking housing or related services, and/or for those at imminent risk of becoming homeless.

Provides supplemental food for families with young children. WIC also provides breastfeeding support and nutrition education. Participants can get Farm to Family coupons to use at local farmers' markets.

Assists families in stabilizing finances during temporary emergencies, when all other resources have been exhausted or the family has been found ineligible for services. Funding is limited to $200 per family. Funds are paid directly to the vendor/business, not to the individual. Expenses may be prepaid with prior approval and then reimbursed through this fund.

Provides telephone and face-to-face crisis intervention services for individuals whose emotional distress may range in severity from difficulty in coping with daily stress to the crisis of a psychotic episode. Enhanced Mobile Crisis Services provide rapid mobile response for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. A trained two-person team can meet the individual at home, workplace, or another community setting, providing support and comfort including safety plans, peer support, care coordination and follow up and, if needed, temporary overnight accommodation.

Provides a pet food pantry of dry and wet cat and dog food. Welcomes donations of pet food and pet supplies.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Individuals pick out food based on household size. Also provides Thanksgiving turkeys. Delivery service is available for individuals who are unable to get to the food shelf in person.

Provide volunteer transportation using driver's own vehicle to eligible clients of Green mountain Express. Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement, set their own schedule, and contribute to their community.

Assists individuals seeking to improve their money management skills in monthly bill paying, debt reduction, savings and credit reports and credit repair. The process generally involves analysis of the individual's income, expenses, debts, taxes and other factors to create a personal financial assessment; development of a budget for basic living expenses. Also offers workshops that address a wide variety of money management issues including banking services, consumer credit lending, debt consolidation/repayment.
