Topics include movement and exercise, nutrition, childbirth education, car seat safety, chronic disease self-management, and health/disease specific support group meetings.

Provides an online employment opportunity information service via Quick Job Search that allows job seekers to review lists of Vermont job openings by regions and by specific towns. Job seekers can build online resumes and can create Job Seeker Accounts that allow review by potential employers. Individual employers and temp agencies often list job openings with Vermont JobLink and online users are directed to Vermont Department of Labor Resource/Job Centers for further assistance with employment information.

Provides a voluntary, confidential alternative to the regular court process, which allows selected offenders the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions and make amends to victims and to the community. The offender meets before a Community Review Board that creates an individualized contract. The contract attempts to repair the harm done to the community and the victim. Upon completion of the contract, the charge is dismissed. Two years later the record is sealed.

Provides confidential, client-directed assistance in gaining information and access to government and community programs, including housing, transportation, Meals on Wheels, congregate meals, 3SquaresVT (food stamps), Medicaid, health-care insurance, rebates, adult day services, hoarding issues, and mental health services. Options Counseling is also available to enable older adults to maintain independence. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Allows for an individual or organization that receives Social Security and/or SSI payments and who cannot manage their own money to name a representative to assist with direct management of their benefits. The Social Security Administration assists individuals in finding a representative payee, as well as manages the application process for individuals and organization looking to become representative payees.

Offers reparative panels as a form of community-sponsored probation that brings convicted individuals before a volunteer panel of citizens as part of their sentencing process. Panels work with victims and offenders to identify the harm caused by the crime and how that harm can be repaired while holding the offender responsible and accountable.

Offers the services of Certified Recovery Coaches/Peer support specialist, who work both one-on-one with people on all paths to recovery to help them plan and make positive improvement in their lives, as well as with their families. Recovery Coaches also help guide people in recovery to finding resources such as detox and treatment, housing, food, heat, clothing, and transportation, and resources for improving relationships and getting connected with others in recovery with whom they can relate.

Provides primary and preventive health care, including diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, tooth sealant application, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. Provides onsite coordinated primary care, mental health services, and substance abuse services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities. Programs for health maintenance and public health awareness services are also offered.

Assists individuals with skills assessment and training related to career development goals. The program also assists with finding paid employment that meets the needs of both the employer and employee.

Provides smartphone app ("Transit") with real time route information that shows potentially available on-demand transportation options.

Provides a crisis intervention program that offers face-to-face recovery coaching to individuals admitted to Northwestern Medical Center Emergency Department.

Provides formal supervision of offenders released conditionally on probation or parole or confined to their homes or other venues in the community.

Provides emergency food shelf services. Provision of personal care items and pet food is dependent upon availability. Extra holiday-type items available before the holiday for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Provides free college courses for Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) staff and Vermonters who are incarcerated, including textbooks and fees.

Provides a visor card to help individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing communicate with law enforcement officers if they are pulled over while driving. There are tips for how officers should communicate with the cardholder, followed by options that cardholders can point to indicating how best to communicate (writing, texting, lip-reading, etc.) with them. On the back, there are graphics with one-word labels that officers can point to under “I need to see your” (license, registration, insurance, other) and “Violations.” The last section is “Help” and lists options for cardholders to show the officer what they need (medical, lost, tow, etc.).

Services provided include: Vehicle Registration Renewal, Duplicate Registration Certificate, and Change of Address. Kiosks also offer Replacement Vehicle Registration.

Provides clothing vouchers for low income children and adults. Also provides vouchers for basic, essential furniture and household goods to low income households who have experienced a disaster or who are moving out of homelessness and have no household furnishings. Vouchers are redeemable at HOPE's resale store.

Operates a helpline providing advocacy for problems involving health care and health insurance. Case types include access to health care, billing, eligibility, and insurance coverage issues. The Office of the Health Care Advocate has a tax attorney on staff to assist individuals with tax filing questions and issues, but does NOT provide assistance with actual filing of returns. This program also recommends needed health care policy changes to the Legislature and administrative agencies.

Provides an intensive family learning program that includes parent education and support, job skills training, and help with completing high school education. Provides parents with consumer information about local Early Headstart, Headstart, home-based care, and child care centers. Also provides information on what to look for in quality child care. Offers on-going parent education workshops and classes. Coordinates community-based, professionally facilitated open play times are offered to children and their grown-ups.

Provides wheelchair-accessible, door-to-door transportation to medical appointments and therapy, grocery shopping, adult day programs, senior meals, and personal and social activities.

Manages water and air quality, regulates solid and hazardous wastes, and administers a number of voluntary pollution and waste reduction programs.
