Description

Offers reparative panels as a form of community-sponsored probation that brings convicted offenders before a volunteer panel of citizens as part of their sentencing process. Panels work with victims and offenders to identify the harm caused by the crime and how that harm can be repaired while holding the offender responsible and accountable.

Burlington Community Justice Center, a member of the Community Justice Network of Vermont, is a non-profit restorative justice organization that works with citizens, local and state government, and law enforcement agencies to provide restorative responses to crime and conflict for the city of Burlington. Programs promote restorative practices by increasing community involvement in finding solutions to crime through Reparative Panels, Court Diversion, Conflict Assistance, Community Dialogue, Education and Crime Prevention, as well as Victim Support Services.
