Provides a lending service for durable medical equipment. Some items may include but not limited to wheelchairs, walkers, canes and quad canes, crutches, shower chairs, commodes, hospital beds, bed rails, and hoyer lifts.

Offers a Pregnancy Group, Parent-Baby Group, and Play Group for Vermonters to meet with other families, share experiences, and learn from local experts. The Pregnancy Group is hosted by a maternal child health nurse and visited by local pregnancy and early childhood specialists. Partners, children, and key supporters are welcome. The Parent-Baby Group is attended by a maternal child health nurse and a lactation professional. Infants, children, partners, and expectant parents welcome. The Play Group includes snack and a story time and is attended by early childhood specialists and is open to families with children from birth to age 5.

Offers temporary home environment and care for surrendered cats, dogs or other small animals. Provides adoption services and enlists volunteers for variety of shelter tasks to assist the professional staff.

Provides volunteers to support and assist individuals who need occasional help to be able to live independently. Assistance includes friendly visiting, errand running, grocery shopping, Meals on Wheels delivery, and transportation to medical appointments. Volunteers do not provide caregiving, laundry, or cleaning services.

Provides fast track medical services to individuals who have minor medical problems that do not require complex diagnostic work, including colds, flu, infections, muscle strains and sprains, cuts, insect stings and bites, rashes and stomach upsets.

Helps youth with disabilities plan and prepare for life after high school. HireAbility Vermont vocational counselors work with both students and school personnel. Services include career counseling, assessment, job search skills, work experiences, exploration of post-secondary education and training programs, workplace readiness, instruction in self-advocacy, and guidance and information on IEP and transition planning, 504 accommodations, benefits planning, and other needed services.

Offers reparative panels bringing together trained community volunteers, victims, and individuals responsible for low-level offenses. Meetings give victims a chance to share their experiences, ask questions, and help shape how harm can be repaired. Participants take responsibility for their actions, work to make amends, and build positive connections in the community with the goal of preventing future harm.

Provides crisis and stabilization services to at risk youth and families. Assists youth with supports toward developing well-being, education, employment, permanent connections, and stable living environments as they transition to adulthood. Compass works with youth and their families to make a plan of care that will assist them in accomplishing their goals. Youth meet with a case manager approximately once a week. If a youth's family is available for services, they will have the opportunity to work with Compass' Family Preservation Specialist around normal adolescent development, verbal de-escalation techniques, mediation, and other approaches. Provides crisis management for enrolled clients and families 24 hours a day through a pager. There is a rotating staff member on call at all times.

Provides a safe, stable drug and alcohol-free home and supportive services with the goal of helping residents to transition to independent living and reassimilation into communities. Home environments are "family-style" where residents support one another in their recovery and cooperate to manage the household.

Provides information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to budget for insurance, utility costs and other requirements related to paying for housing; assistance with locating, securing or maintaining housing. Provides information about alcohol and drug use; the effects on individuals, families and communities; as well as information for the public about strategies for prevention and early intervention.

Provides educational presentations on sexual violence, sexual assault, dating violence, human trafficking, sexual harassment, and related topics to schools, churches, businesses, medical staff, law enforcement, and community organizations. Presentations can be tailored to meet specific organization needs.
