Offers adult education and literacy instruction that provide learners with the opportunity to acquire the education and literacy skills they need either to complete a secondary education or to better achieve post-secondary/career goals. Instruction is provided at six learning centers, as well as at job sites, libraries, homes, and other locations. Services include the following: Functional Literacy Education (Reading, Writing, Math), Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy, English Language Learning and Citizenship Preparation, High School Completion Program, General Education Development (GED) Credentialing, and Career and College Readiness.

Provides resources and advice to pet owners, animal-related businesses and non-profits, local communities, and state agencies to strengthen and support Franklin County's capacity to respond to animal needs in the event of a disaster. Guardian Angel Disaster Animal Response Team (GADART) provides support and training for team members and provides guidance to local emergency managers on including the communities' pet population in local response plans.

Helps low-income households maintain telephone or Internet services through a discount on monthly services.

Provides public bus service along US Route 7 between Middlebury and Burlington, with stops in Shelburne, Ferrisburgh, and Vergennes.

Provides a free resting place where individuals can escape the elements and have a nutritious meal. Also includes a small emergency food pantry and a clothing closet with winter jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, boots, scarves, hats, and socks. Also provides a warming center and a cooling center depending on extreme weather. They provide a Thanksgiving and Christmas Meal.

Sells low-cost clothing, jewelry, unique and vintage items, and some household items. Proceeds benefit the grant program.

Provides a process by which individuals receiving mental health services from one of the Department of Mental Health's (DMH) Designated Agencies (DAs) may file grievances or appeals to their DA. They may file a formal GRIEVANCE regarding QUALITY of services. Consumers may file an APPEAL if they do not agree with a Designated Agency's proposed CHANGES to the type or amount of services, such as denial or reduction of services. If a consumer is dissatisfied with the outcome of their grievance to the DA, they may ask for a DMH Grievance Review.

Provides preventive health care as well as diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, teen family planning and birth control counseling. Pediatric primary care is staffed by specialists who are concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of infants, children and adolescents from birth to young adulthood.

Supports organizations in providing quality afterschool, summer, and expanded learning experiences. Provides professional development to afterschool, summer, and out-of-school professionals.

Offers USDA food commodities, 3SquaresVT application assistance, and seasonal Farm to Family coupons. Farm to Family coupons can be used at farmers markets and farm stands. Also provides ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey is not included.

Offers the services of Wildlife Rehabilitators who can release injured and orphaned wildlife safely back into the wild.

Provides occasional nursing and rehabilitative therapies in the patient's home. Skilled Nursing Services include nursing care, case management, and client and family education. Provides clients with social workers who offer coordination of community services and resources, client and family counseling, and navigating the health care system. Licensed Nursing Assistants provide home health assistance, including personal care assistance, light housekeeping, and help with normal daily living activities.

Provides post-permanency services including in-home adjusted parent education, consultation to treatment teams and advocacy, referrals to community resources, general adoption information, and kinship placements support.

Provides a method for filing a compliment or a complaint about a member of the Windham County Sheriff's Office.

Provides case management, advocacy, information, social support, emergency financial assistance, housing assistance, transportation assistance, education, information and referral to social service organizations.

Acts as a bridge between individuals with mental illness and the community by facilitating community relations and education, promoting mental health, building community supports, encouraging self-direction, providing advocacy, by addressing issues of stigma, inclusion, and social integration. Works toward the development of caring communities that understand and accept persons with mental illness and contributes to their well-being by fostering community volunteer programs.
