Provides a package of long-term services and supports to Vermonters who need nursing home level of care. Eligible persons choose where to receive their services - in their home, their family’s home, an Adult Family Care Home, Enhanced Residential Care, or nursing facility. Services include personal care, respite care, companion care, adult day services, assistive devices, home modification, personal emergency response system, and case management. Enhanced residential care services include nursing overview, personal care, medication management, social and recreational activities, 24-hour on-site supervision, laundry services, household services, transportation, meals, and case management.

Provides housing options and support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Also offers the Homeward Program as part of the Choices for Care program.

Provides a monthly community breakfast.

Provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services for individuals with mental illnesses and serious emotional disturbances, and for people with developmental disabilities. Services include case management, rehabilitation, and specialized programs. Services are also available via telehealth virtual visits.

Provides small, limited, community food services. Residents encouraged to take what they need and/or donate what they can in support of the pantry.

Provides low cost spay/neuter clinics for pet owners who cannot otherwise afford to have their dogs, cats, or rabbits spayed or neutered.

Provides individual and family counseling, individual and family crisis intervention services, family mediation, and substance misuse education, prevention, intervention and treatment.

Survivor-directed services may include safety planning, emotional support, assistance in obtaining emergency relief from abuse orders, hospital emergency room support, assistance in finding emergency shelter, advocacy for legal, financial, medical, and housing issues, and community resource referrals.

Provides public awareness and education to promote community wellness and to prevent the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, with an emphasis on youth substance use prevention. Collaborates with other wellness programs, schools, and communities to help them promote healthy behaviors and reduce health risks.

Provides resources consumers can utilize to report disaster fraud and scams.

Provides energy conservation services that improve efficiency, comfort, safety and save money on fuel. Includes a thorough inspection of a home to pinpoint areas where energy loss is the greatest and provides the needed improvements. Works on reducing drafts, installing insulation, repairing heating systems, caulking, and improving indoor air quality.

Provides prenatal and postpartum support including childbirth education, breastfeeding support, parenting strategies, coping skills, and information on health and safety issues.

Provides fast track medical services to individuals who have minor medical problems that do not require complex diagnostic work, including: colds, flu, infections, muscle strains and sprains, cuts, insect stings and bites, rashes and stomach aches. Services include common immunizations, sports and school physicals, lab testing, and x-rays.

Provides training designed to prevent child sexual abuse. Training's can be delivered as webinars, community workshops, and comprehensive multi-day organizational trainings including trainer certifications.

Provides safe, confidential, temporary emergency shelter and supportive services.

Provides immediate, in-person intervention services, referrals, resources information, emotional support, and harm reduction information. The Street Outreach Team works in the downtown district and Burlington area to assist people with mental health and substance use treatment needs, homelessness, and other unmet social service needs.

Operates thrift stores selling and accepting donations of clothing, furniture, and household items at low cost. Also accepts vouchers from area social service agencies with approval from main office.

Provides education and support, including support of individual developmental goals, and transition planning for services after early intervention. Coaches families and early care and education providers around individual child supports.

Educates the public about alternative, renewable energy sources, promotes investment in clean, safe renewable energy, and works to reduce toxic threats to the environment and human health throughout the state. VPIRG is also the lead advocacy agency for accuracy in labeling, requiring clear and specific disclosure of all ingredients, including genetically modified organisms (GMOs), that go into the production of food being sold in Vermont.

Provides counseling, treatment, and recovery support. Includes collaboration with the clients’ primary care doctor, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professional, and referrals for additional levels of care as needed.

Provides a way for individuals who have assistive technology and durable medical equipment items they no longer need to donate or sell them. Individuals who need items such as communication devices, wheelchairs, ramps, mobility devices, and vans can register with the exchange and view items as well as contact information for the owner of those items. This is an independent exchange between registered users. All equipment is held and transferred by owner and recipient; equipment is not held by the exchange itself.

Provides comprehensive specialized care via a team that includes a neurologist, speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, nurse, nutritionist/dietician, clinical social worker, palliative care provider, clinical pharmacist, and an ALS care services manager.

Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, immunizations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. Provides onsite integrated health services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities. Pediatric primary care is staffed by specialists who are concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of infants, children and adolescents from birth to young adulthood.

Provides short-term help with budgeting. Also helps with applications for services to help individuals and families to navigate systems and community resources.

Provides down payment zero interest loans towards the purchase of a single-family home. If the buyer owns and lives in the home for three or more years, the loan does not have to be repaid.
