Provides crisis and stabilization services to at risk youth and families. Assists youth with supports toward developing well-being, education, employment, permanent connections, and stable living environments as they transition to adulthood. Compass works with youth and their families to make a plan of care that will assist them in accomplishing their goals. Youth meet with a case manager approximately once a week. If a youth's family is available for services, they will have the opportunity to work with Compass' Family Preservation Specialist around normal adolescent development, verbal de-escalation techniques, mediation, and other approaches. Provides crisis management for enrolled clients and families 24 hours a day through a pager. There is a rotating staff member on call at all times.

Provides an interactive decision support process that helps individuals in need of long term care and their families understand their strengths, needs, preferences, and unique circumstances, and weigh the pros and cons of available alternatives. The consultation includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, information about the range of long term care support options available in their community (such as personal care, transportation, and medication management) and resources that can help them pay for services.Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides a telephone and/or face-to-face response to individuals in crisis. This service offers an immediate intervention and suicide prevention response by mental health counselors and connects individuals to resources that best fit the needs of their particular situations. Within the First Call program there are specialized services such as crisis case management, crisis respite, support services when a tragic event impacts a child, as well as Safety Net, an urgent response service for families impacted by incarceration. First Call also provides education, support, and "Gatekeeper Training" to community providers to promote prompt and appropriate response to mental health crises.

Matches volunteer opportunities with individuals and groups that wish to volunteer. Also coordinates annual Days of Caring event each September. During times of regional disasters or emergencies provides information intended to help everyone in their communities get to the resources they need quickly and efficiently.

All councils serve as local hubs of information for early childhood and family resource networks.

Provides assistance for people who need housing including information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to provide for insurance, utility costs, and other requirements related to paying for housing. Also provides information on tenant rights and responsibilities.

Provides a transitional housing program to individuals leaving incarceration and transitioning to the community.

Provides training that introduces new riders to the public transit system and teaches them to use bus service effectively. Participants are educated first in a classroom setting and then paired with an experienced travel advisor to learn the basic components of the system, including routes, fares, schedules, and policies. Helps build confidence in riding the bus and traveling independently. Accepts volunteers to serve as travel advisors.

Offers drop-in programming that includes homework help, computer lab use, games and field trips.

Provides comprehensive evaluations for developmental disabilities in children. Pediatric developmental evaluation teams specialize in the diagnosis of children with developmental disabilities, including developmental delay, intellectual disability, and autism spectrum disorder. Pediatric specialists observe, test, and counsel families regarding the developmental/behavioral status of their child after extensive review of early intervention/school reports, family questionnaires, and examination of the child.

Provides immediate access to assessments, support, and interventions without the need for a scheduled appointment.

Provides statewide distribution of overdose rescue kits containing nasal naloxone (Narcan) through community sites. Provides an online locator map of all Narcan distribution sites in Vermont. Also provides prevention and overdose response trainings at the regional distribution sites, as well as home delivered rescue kits to individuals who request them.

Offers a substance free environment for peer support, educational programs, information and referral to needed services, recovery coaching, socializing, recreational activities, and meeting space for a variety of recovery workshops and meetings. They offer Narcan.
