Separate courses are geared to different audiences: Mental Health First Aid is for adults, such as first responders, faith leaders, and caring adults; Youth Mental Health First Aid is for adults working with youth; and Teen Mental Health First Aid for high school students and youth-serving organizations.

Helps Vermonters with disabilities to find and keep meaningful employment. HireAbility VT works closely with employment specialists at Supported Employment Programs who provide a wide range of services designed to teach necessary skills, help a person transition into a job, and ensure that employers meet the needs of their employees.

Provides a range of support services to those impacted by flooding or other natural disasters. Some services include outreach and information on individual flood recovery, financial assistance, and navigation through state and federal application processes.

Senator Sanders' office provides casework and answers questions from constituents about federal agencies, Social Security benefits, veterans benefits, passports and visas. Assists constituents with service academy nominations, and federal grant searches. Assists constituents who are having trouble solving a problem with a federal program or agency. Assistance may include helping understand what is involved, inquiring about the status of a case, encouraging an agency to give a case full and fair consideration, and when appropriate, advocating for speedier resolution.

Oversees liquor licensure system that ensures businesses comply with the requirements of state laws before being licensed to serve alcohol and alcoholic beverages. Investigates possible violations of liquor laws and regulations. Provides trainings and seminars to consumers, business owners, teenagers, parents, bartenders, and storeowners.

Provides a list and online map of all permanent Vermont locations where unused prescription drugs, including needles/sharps, can be dropped off throughout the year. Offers free prepaid postage envelopes for mailing in unused dry prescription drugs. Also provides information about safe disposal of needles/sharps as well as an online link to all National Drug Take Back Day sites.

Offers a Pregnancy Group, Parent-Baby Group, and Play Group for Vermonters to meet with other families, share experiences, and learn from local experts. The Pregnancy Group is hosted by a maternal child health nurse and visited by local pregnancy and early childhood specialists. Partners, children, and key supporters are welcome. The Parent-Baby Group is attended by a maternal child health nurse and a lactation professional. Infants, children, partners, and expectant parents welcome. The Play Group includes snack and a story time and is attended by early childhood specialists and is open to families with children from birth to age 5.

Provides shelter and adoption services for stray or surrendered pets. All cats, dogs, and rabbits at the shelter are spayed or neutered and undergo behavior modification as necessary before being adopted out. Adoption includes a voucher for one free examination with your local veterinarian. Performs euthanasia only in circumstances of highly aggressive or extremely ill animals at the shelter. In addition, offers a means of reporting a missing pet via a form on the website.

Works with peers one on one and in groups to create independent living plans to reach an individuals' goals. Plans may include moving out of a nursing home, managing attendant care, budgeting finances, acquiring adaptive equipment, communicating more effectively, or finding a job.

Issues medical marijuana licenses to protect patients from state criminal penalties for using marijuana to relieve the symptoms or effects of a debilitating medical condition. Also maintains a list of medical dispensaries, as well as a way to submit a complaint about adult-use cannabis establishments.

Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helps with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Provides a variety of core services including emergency support and assistance. Services include problem-solving support, assistance accessing resources, prejob guidance, employment goal setting, budget counseling, tenant-landlord mediation, emergency food services, and emergency assistance with other basic needs such as utility payment assistance. Also provides assistance with filling out benefit program applications and other forms.

Supports youth seeking to complete their education, acquire relevant and desirable employment skills, and enhance life skills and parenting skills. Provides an on-site care and education program for children ages six weeks to three years while parents work on achieving their own goals.

Responsible for State-specific standards concerning permissible exposure limits, lineworker safety, VOSHA/OSHA rules, and Vermont Labor Standards. Employees may contact VOSHA to request information or to file a complaint about the safety of working conditions at their employment site. Whistleblower Protection Program protects employees who raise concerns about safety and/or health at their workplace or participate in other endeavors in the furtherance of occupational safety and health and suffer retaliation as a result.
