Provides an infrastructure for developing and maintaining a statewide mental health peer support workforce. Provides financial and technical assistance to income-eligible landlords and homeowners in Vermont to reduce the risk of lead poisoning caused by lead-based paint hazards. VHCB also provides lead information for parents, homeowners, renters, landlords and contractors via the LeadSafeVermont website; offers a free guide to lead paint safety for painting, home maintenance, and renovation; and provides free trainings on lead paint safety for rental property owners, managers and contractors.

LEGAL SERVICES PROGRAM | WISE

Provides essential legal services for survivors of gender-based violence who need legal support with immigration and/or family law. Legal services include assistance in divorce and parenting matters for survivors, consultations to assess an individual's eligibility for humanitarian immigration status or for other benefits under U.S. immigration law and provides legal assistance to eligible survivors. The law protects migrants who are victims of domestic violence/ sexual assault crimes including human trafficking, or who have suffered persecution before fleeing their home country. Services also include direct advice and referrals to individuals and organizations. They also offers workshops for entities that have contact with immigrants, such as medical centers and health clinics, public school English Language Learning educators, law enforcement, and social service providers.

Offers a variety of services aimed at keeping families connected when a parent is incarcerated, including case management and coordination of family care plans. The program also facilitates opportunities for incarcerated parents to communicate with their children, including individual and group visits in the child-friendly Kids-A-Part visiting space. Case management for families/caregivers in the community include financial support to facilitate visitation. Services also include statewide education and advocacy to community members and groups working with children.
