This includes programs that strengthen financial stability, financial literacy, individual nutritional and physical well being, early learning, addiction prevention. Additionally, support is provided for programs addressing basic needs such as housing, food, and accessibility in service communities.

Offers a series of health-related workshops and presentations for the community, many of which are offered by health professionals. Information about local wellness programs is provided on line and is also published in flyer form. Topics can include movement and exercise, nutrition, childbirth education, chronic disease self-management, and health/disease specific support group meetings.

Receives and sells items no longer needed by state government, including office furniture, computers and related equipment, vehicles, and a variety of other items. Sells vehicles by auction.

Provides assistance for applying for and filing claims for all federal benefits, including pensions, healthcare, and burial benefits. Also provides information on obtaining representative payee services.

Pays a portion of home heating bills for households meeting income eligibility requirements. Seasonal Fuel Assistance is not designed to cover all of the costs of heating a home or apartment. Active Seasonal Fuel households are eligible for free weatherization services.

Administers the Meals on Wheels program. Registers and enrolls eligible individuals for meals and coordinates delivery schedules with volunteers. Meals are fully cooked and delivered refrigerated for reheating. Special diets are accommodated.

Administers the registration and title of all motor vehicles. Issues Vermont license plates. Issues Vermont Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses, School Bus Driver Licenses, and Motorcycle Driver Licenses. Provides driver training information and issues ID (Non-driver) cards and Learner Permits. Provides school bus driver training information and administers scheduling for driver's license exams. Offers a therapeutic riding program that fosters emotional growth, physical strength, communication skills, self-esteem, self-awareness, healing, and personal transformation. Offers summer week-long camps whose activities focus on improving campers' confidence and social skills while offering support for challenging behavior. Activities may include equestrian care and riding, hiking, farm and environment activities, and arts and crafts.

Offers ongoing support groups. Groups provide emotional support, information, and resources to help participants process and heal from their experiences.

Assists with such needs as personal needs items and emergency dental care (including extractions) for relief of pain, bleeding, and infection. Provides means to return to the state of legal residence for people who are stranded.

Provides telephone and face-to-face crisis intervention services for individuals whose emotional distress may range in severity from difficulty in coping with daily stress to the crisis of a psychotic episode. Enhanced Mobile Crisis Services provide rapid mobile response for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. A trained 2-person team can meet the individual at home, workplace, or another community setting, providing support and comfort including safety plans, peer support, care coordination and follow up and, if needed, temporary overnight accommodation.

Provides free assistance with basic tax preparation and electronic filing by IRS-trained Castleton University student volunteers and/or staff.

Helps Vermonters with disabilities to find and keep meaningful employment. HireAbility VT works closely with employment specialists at Supported Employment Programs who provide a wide range of services designed to teach necessary skills, help a person transition into a job, and ensure that employers meet the needs of their employees.

Provides rehabilitative therapies including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology to help individuals recovering from surgery, stroke, or illness. Also provides pediatric rehabilitative therapies.

Groups are gender and trauma specific and are designed to build relapse prevention skills. As the Public Inebriate Program's designated agency, provides assessment and placement of individuals requiring medically monitored detoxification. The "public inebriate bed" provides an alternative for those detained by the police for public intoxication who would otherwise be placed in protective custody.

Provides an online list of state-licensed residential care homes in Vermont, including contact information, bed capacity, level of care, Enhanced Residential Care (ERC) status, and Assistive Community Care Services (ACCS) eligibility. Residential care homes are group living arrangements designed to meet the needs of people who cannot live independently but who do not need the level of care provided in a nursing home. They offer assistance with daily activities such as eating, walking, toileting, bathing and dressing. Meals, activities, and other amenities are typically offered but vary by facility.
