Provides an educational series designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. Skilled trainers provide lessons on reducing stress, communicating effectively with others, reducing guilt/anger/depression, setting goals, problem-solving and taking care of oneself.

Services include personal support and case management; specialized residential programs; psychiatric and medical care; vocational and skill acquisition training; family support services; and support services to individuals in nursing homes. Provides a spectrum of supported living arrangements to meet the needs of each person. Clinical services for individuals include provision of a psychiatrist to provide evaluation, medication checks, and after-hours consultation on medication issues. Also provides care coordination services.

Offers a 12 Step recovery program for individuals affected by someone’s else’s gambling. Also provides information about dates, times, and locations of meetings.

Provides a voluntary program for youth who have received a civil violation for underage use or possession of alcohol, cannabis, or buprenorphine without a prescription. Participants are screened for substance misuse, with possible referral to clinical assessment, and attend an education program. Successful completion voids the underage ticket.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Also offers seasonal Farm to Family coupons that can be used at farmers markets and farm stands, and free seed packets for summer garden plantings. Provides fixings for Thanksgiving at Newport and St. Johnsbury food shelves. Helps individuals and families apply for food benefits.

Provides information on voting rights and procedures, sponsors candidate debates and issue forums, and maintains a presence in the State House observing committee meetings and talking with legislators. Takes action on selected positions. Action includes lobbying on legislation at every level of government. Provides online information about current legislation and legislators, hearings on particular bills, committees, and committee chairs. Provides annual scholarship(s) to selected graduating seniors who have demonstrated civic involvement.

Provides volunteer emergency response opportunities through the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) or Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Individuals can help respond to a large-scale accident, disaster, or public health emergency.

Manages water and air quality, regulates solid and hazardous wastes, and administers a number of voluntary pollution and waste reduction programs. Program also provides environmental permit information and assistance, business and municipal compliance assistance, a number to call to report hazardous materials spills, and an Environmental Enforcement Division, which takes complaints regarding potential violations of Vermont's environmental laws. Also offers sampling of drinking water, well tests, and other resources during water-related emergencies.

Offers Vermont high school students the opportunity to enroll full time at any of CCV’s 12 locations during the fall and spring of their senior year for a combined total of 8-10 classes (24+ credits). Credits apply to both high school completion and college. Classes may be online or in-person.

Investigates complaints of judicial misconduct and reports of physical or mental disability that permanently impairs judicial duties. Recommends necessary action to the Vermont Supreme Court.

Investigates claims of unlawful discrimination in housing, places of public accommodation, and state government employment. A place of public accommodation is any school, restaurant, store, establishment or other facility at which services, facilities, goods, privileges, advantages, benefits or accommodations are offered to the general public. This also includes most hospitals, professional offices (such as doctors, dentists, lawyers, and accountants), retail stores, inns, hotels, and schools. The Commission does not represent or advocate for either the individual who makes the complaint (complaintant) or the individual or entity against whom a petition is filed (respondent). If the Commission accepts a case for investigation, it may provide an independent mediator to seek an informal resolution to the dispute. If mediation does not result in a mutually agreed upon resolution, a member of the Commission's staff will investigate. The Commission does not provide legal advice. The complaintant and respondent may have attorneys to advise and represent them throughout the process, but an attorney is not required.

Provides educational presentations on domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, human trafficking, sexual harassment, and related topics to schools, churches, businesses, medical staff, law enforcement, and community organizations. Presentations can be tailored to meet specific organization needs.

Offers over 20 virtual support groups covering a wide range of fertility and family building topics

Promotes volunteerism and assists with finding volunteer opportunities in the community. Provides an online interactive volunteer opportunities match/referral page where individuals who would like to volunteer in their communities can find listing of opportunities and where agencies and organizations seeking volunteers can post volunteer opportunities. During times of regional disasters or emergencies provides information intended to help everyone in their communities get to the resources they need quickly and efficiently.

Provides outpatient substance disorder treatment that includes assessment and mental health evaluations, observed and random urinalysis screenings, individual, family and couples counseling, child and family therapy, clinical group treatment, coordination of case and care management, aftercare and peer support. Co-occurring mental health needs may also be addressed. The program works with the hub at the Howard Center in management of medication assisted treatment (MAT) and required counseling as a spoke in Vermont's Care Alliance for Opioid Addiction.

Provides comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages including physical exams, immunizations, and routine screenings, treatment of short-term injuries or illnesses, treatment of chronic illnesses, care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, family planning services, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, and other special programs. Provides preventive health care, as well as diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, immunizations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. Provides onsite integrated health services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities. Pediatric primary care is staffed by specialists who are concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of infants, children and adolescents from birth to young adulthood.

Offers reparative panels as a form of community-sponsored probation that brings convicted offenders before a volunteer panel of citizens as part of their sentencing process. Panels work with victims and offenders to identify the harm caused by the crime and how that harm can be repaired while holding the offender responsible and accountable.

Pursues the preservation and protection of endangered land resources from indiscriminate development. Partners with local and statewide conservation organizations to conserve Vermont lands for the future. Conservation efforts include acquisition of development rights transferred through conservation easements for Vermont farms, working forest projects, and community projects. Also offers an online directory of conserved land open to the public for recreational trails.

Administers the USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). Program participants receive a box of nutritious foods along with nutrition information once a month.
