HireAbility VT works closely with employment specialists at Supported Employment Programs who provide a wide range of services designed to teach necessary skills, help a person transition into a job, and ensure that employers meet the needs of their employees.

Offers HomeBuyer's Workshops, as well as education and counseling that include pre-purchase credit and budget counseling, financial literacy and foreclosure issues, guidance on affordable mortgages and refinancing, home maintenance education, and assistance with home rehabilitation planning. Offers housing down payment loans for manufactured homes through its Housing Loan Fund.

Offers parenting support and education services including playgroups, training sessions, resources information, and referrals.

Provides a range of services designed to stabilize children and families and promote children's successful adjustment in the community. Provides shelter, medical treatment, and other basic care for surrendered and stray animals, including dogs, cats, and small pets. Facilitates pet adoptions, with adoption counseling to best match shelter animals with appropriate households. Also offers disaster preparedness services including education and emergency boarding. Provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities.

Responds to reports of suspected child abuse and neglect, and helps parents get the services and supports they need. Vermont Department for Children and Families Family Services Division (DCF/FSD) is also responsible for placing children in temporary out-of-home care when necessary to keep them safe, working with parents and relatives toward children's safe return home, and finding permanent homes for children who can't return home safely. The program provides a hotline number for reporting suspected cases of child abuse, neglect, or risk of harm. Social workers who answer the line take reports, conduct investigations, assess families, and make recommendations for services to alleviate family stress and improve parenting skills.

Provides registration renewal "express services" online, at participating town clerks' offices, and at DMV kiosks within some branch offices. Services provided include: Vehicle Registration Renewal, Duplicate Registration Certificate, and Change of Address. Kiosks also offer Replacement Vehicle Registration.

Provides monthly supplemental nutrition assistance benefits to low-income households to purchase food. Households in which any person is younger than 65 access their benefit using a Vermont Express electronic benefits transfer (EBT) debit card. If everyone in a household is 65 or older, or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), benefits are deposited as cash into the recipient's bank account. Expedited benefits are available in emergencies and other specific situations. EBT cards may also be used to buy fresh, local products at certain farmers' markets in Vermont. A list of farmer's markets that can accept EBT cards is available on the website. In addition, 3SquaresVT benefits may be used for seeds and plants that grow fruit and vegetables at any retailer or farmer's market that accepts EBT cards.

Provides information on parking bans in the city due to snow and/or ice.

Partners with senior meal sites and senior centers to provide hot, nutritious, noontime meals. Home-delivered meals are often available for those who are unable to reach a meal site because of illness or frailty.

Provides education and support, including support of individual developmental goals, and transition planning for services after early intervention. Coaches families and early care and education providers around individual child supports.

Provides a full range of supportive services for individuals with a limited life expectancy, and their families. Also provides comprehensive Palliative and support care to individuals in need of pain and other symptom management whether or not they have a life limiting illness.

Provides an online method for filing a compliment or a complaint about a member of the South Burlington Police Department.

Provides grant funds for weatherization projects to eligible individuals. Projects include insulation, air sealing, heat pumps, electric water heaters and wood heating systems.

Manages a fund used to help certain Vermonters pay for a delivery of heating fuel. Fuel dealers sign up to pledge to make a fuel delivery to one of their customers per winter. The fund pays back the dealer for half of the delivery. Any Vermonter can donate to the fund. Neighbors and friends can nominate someone to receive the free delivery.

Provides formal supervision of offenders released conditionally on probation or parole or confined to their homes or other venues in the community.

Aids Vermont greenhouses, farms, and orchards by assisting in the identification and control of plant pests and diseases. Callers will be instructed on how to collect, prepare, and mail a specimen of the plant or pest.
