Provides primary police services for approximately 200 Vermont towns out of 10 barracks throughout the state. Troopers perform traditional police services of traffic enforcement and the investigation of crimes, and also enforce snowmobile and recreational boating laws.

Provides comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages including physical exams, immunizations, and routine screenings, treatment of short-term injuries or illnesses, treatment of chronic illnesses, care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, family planning services, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, and other special programs.Provides preventive health care, as well as diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, immunizations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. Provides onsite integrated health services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities. Pediatric primary care is staffed by specialists who are concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of infants, children and adolescents from birth to young adulthood.

Provides a way for individuals who have assistive technology and durable medical equipment items they no longer need to donate or sell them. Individuals who need items such as communication devices, wheelchairs, ramps, mobility devices, and vans can register with the exchange and view items as well as contact information for the owner of those items. This is an independent exchange between registered users. All equipment is held and transferred by owner and recipient; equipment is not held by the exchange itself.

Provides flexibly scheduled and routed door-to-door (or curb-to-curb) transportation services. Coordinates and provides non-emergency medical transportation to health and wellness appointments, including for individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid or Senior Rides transportation programs. Offers transportation for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorder to support groups, job training and access, recovery centers, drug testing, and other services. Offers Vermont high school students the opportunity to enroll full time at any of CCV’s 12 locations during the fall and spring of their senior year for a combined total of 8-10 classes (24+ credits). Credits apply to both high school completion and college. Classes may be online or in-person.

Helps families with children by providing case management services that support work, training and education, and cash grants for basic necessities. Reach Up helps with identifying skills, abilities, interests, training or education needs, preparation for work, childcare costs, transportation costs, and work-related costs such as clothing, tools, and supplies. Each person on Reach Up works with a case manager to create a Family Development Plan. Benefits paid through direct deposit or EBT card. Child-Only Reach Up provides cash assistance to help eligible adults care for the minor, dependent children of relatives or family friends. Reach First helps families overcome temporary, short-term financial crises and avoid the need for longer-term assistance, providing case management, financial help, and support services. Reach Ahead helps families transition from Vermont's Reach Up or Post-Secondary Education (PSE) programs to working, with supports to help maintain a job, including cash incentives for working and help paying for car repairs, work clothes, and work supplies, a 100% childcare subsidy, and a cash benefit for food.

Provides overnight shelter for youth.

Provides professional assistance with the assessment and development of plans for the care of individuals who, because of age, illness, disability or other difficulties, need assistance in planning and arranging for in-home care services. Strafford's community Registered Nurse will coordinate the delivery of needed services, provide assistance/education around following medical advice and proper medication taking, assess in-home mobility safety to reduce the risk of falls, assist families with understanding the issues and needs of the family member requiring in-home care services, and provide ongoing follow-up visits to ensure the best possible health outcomes. Also provides a Community Resources Coordinator who works closely with the Nurse to respond to the non-medical needs of Strafford’s residents. All services provided are confidential and specific to each individual's needs.

Offers ongoing support groups. Groups provide emotional support, information, and resources to help participants process and heal from their experiences.

Offers a six-part workshop that addresses myths about 12-Step Programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), or Cocaine Anonymous (CA) by creating a supportive environment for sharing and discussing experiences with recovery, both positive and negative, and 12-step programs. Experienced facilitators assure the group is safe and that whatever is discussed during these sessions will not be shared anywhere else.

Assists with searching for housing and completion of paperwork. Also provides information and referral to community resources.

Offers the services of Certified Recovery Coaches/Peer support specialist, who work both one-on-one with people on all paths to recovery to help them plan and make positive improvement in their lives, as well as with their families. Recovery Coaches also help guide people in recovery to finding resources such as detox and treatment, housing, food, heat, clothing, and transportation, and resources for improving relationships and getting connected with others in recovery with whom they can relate.

Provides volunteer opportunities for individuals to serve one-on-one with frail elderly and other homebound persons who have difficulty completing everyday tasks. They might assist with grocery shopping, bill paying, and transportation to medical appointments, and alert doctors and family members to potential problems. Senior Companions also provide short periods of relief to primary caregivers.

Provides individualized outpatient mental health and/or substance use disorder assessment and treatment services for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use issue. Also provides family, couples, and group mental health or substance use disorder counseling for families dealing with adolescent substance use disorder issues and provides group treatment services for adolescents.

Issues Vermont's Disabled Plates and Windshield Placards that allow individuals to park in designated spaces in public areas or in front of their homes. Also allows parking for unlimited periods of time in time limit zones as well as parking in metered parking areas without paying fees.

Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helping with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Provides a visor card to help individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing communicate with law enforcement officers if they are pulled over while driving. There are tips for how officers should communicate with the cardholder, followed by options that cardholders can point to indicating how best to communicate (writing, texting, lip-reading, etc.) with them. On the back, there are graphics with one-word labels that officers can point to under “I need to see your” (license, registration, insurance, other) and “Violations.” The last section is “Help” and lists options for cardholders to show the officer what they need (medical, lost, tow, etc.).
