Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Helps the individual identify their strengths, needs, preferences, and unique circumstances to weigh the pros and cons of available alternatives. Includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, and information about the range of long term care support options (such as personal care, transportation, and medication management). Also helps to identify resources that can help to pay for services. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides fast track medical services to individuals who have minor medical problems that do not require complex diagnostic work, including: colds, flu, infections, muscle strains and sprains, cuts, insect stings and bites, rashes and stomach aches. Services include common immunizations, sports and school physicals, lab testing, and x-rays.

Addresses complaints regarding housing discrimination, mobile and manufactured homes, deceptive contractors, issues with poor maintenance, health and safety risks. Also handles complaints about mismanagement and fraud on the part of landlords or property managers of HUD-insured and HUD-subsidized housing.

Provides legal services to individuals who are at risk of losing their homes due to financial hardship. Also helps with estate planning and legal assistance to heirs who need help getting the deed to the home they inherited.

Provides individualized outpatient substance abuse assessment and treatment services for adolescents who are dependent upon, or at risk of becoming dependent upon, alcohol or other substances. Also provides family substance abuse counseling for families dealing with adolescent substance abuse issues, and provides group treatment services for adolescents.

Provides emergency food shelf services. Provision of personal care items, disposable diapers, and pet food is dependent upon availability. Clothing also is offered.

Offers the services of specially trained caregivers, including priests and professional counselors, to provide post-abortion counseling regardless of the faith tradition of the individuals.

Provides placement in barns and other outbuildings of cats who are not able to live as house pets and have nowhere else to go. All cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Also provides Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services, which is a non-lethal, three-step method used to reduce the number of feral and stray cats, both immediately and in the long term. Trap: Feral or stray cats are trapped using a safe, humane live trap; Neuter: Trapped cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated by a veterinarian; Return: Spayed/neutered cats are returned to their home location.
