Pays a portion of home heating bills for households meeting income eligibility requirements. Seasonal Fuel Assistance is not designed to cover all of the costs of heating a home or apartment. Active Seasonal Fuel households are eligible for free weatherization services.

Provides early childhood development materials that includes: milestones information, tips on having progress conversations with pediatricians, and information about other available resources. Offers a parenting kit, and a Milestone Tracker App that provides parents with easy-to-use illustrated checklists, tips, and activities to encourage a child's development.

Provides an interactive decision support process that helps individuals in need of long term care and their families understand their strengths, needs, preferences, and unique circumstances, and weigh the pros and cons of available alternatives. The consultation includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, information about the range of long term care support options available in their community (such as personal care, transportation, and medication management) and resources that can help them pay for services.Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides assistance for people who need housing including information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to provide for insurance, utility costs, and other requirements related to paying for housing. Coordinates with other providers in the community to help individuals and families obtain or maintain housing. May offer limited financial assistance with rent, rental deposit, and other payments. Also provides information on tenant rights and responsibilities.

Provides information about foster care and coordinates support and resources for foster parents of children in State of Vermont custody.

Offers four different programs that help pay for Medicare costs, including deductibles, co-pays, and Medicare Part B premiums. Some of the programs include extra help with prescription drug costs.

Provides take-out prepared, refrigerated Thanksgiving meals and Christmas Meals. Allows patrons to have access to limited Library services.

Survivor-directed services may include safety planning, emotional support, assistance in obtaining emergency relief from abuse orders, hospital emergency room support, assistance in finding emergency shelter, advocacy for legal, financial, medical, and housing issues, and community resource referrals.

Provides a wide range of health and wellness, recreational, youth development and family development programs including classes, and recreational activities. Also provides age-appropriate fitness programs for seniors, child care services, leadership development opportunities, summer camps, and parent-child programs.

Offers in person and telehealth services including: birth control, well-person check ups, sexual health care, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, cancer screenings, reproductive life planning, HIV testing and prevention, menopause and perimenopause services, pregnancy testing, PrEP and PEP, vasectomy services, trans-inclusive health care services, hormone therapy, services for men, and medication and in-person abortion services.

Provides transportation to and from non-Medicaid medical appointments, meal sites, senior centers, social activities, shopping and pharmacy trips, radiation and dialysis treatment, and general daily needs. Offers volunteer driving opportunities.

Responds to reports of suspected child abuse and neglect, and helps parents get the services and supports they need. Vermont Department for Children and Families Family Services Division (DCF/FSD) is also responsible for placing children in temporary out-of-home care when necessary to keep them safe, working with parents and relatives toward children's safe return home, and finding permanent homes for children who can't return home safely. The program provides a hotline number for reporting suspected cases of child abuse, neglect, or risk of harm. Social workers who answer the line take reports, conduct investigations, assess families, and make recommendations for services to alleviate family stress and improve parenting skills.

Provides safety information regarding smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and fireworks.

SEVCA’s Family Services team is often the first point of contact when crisis strikes. Meets people with empathy and practical tools, offering one-on-one problem-solving to meet urgent needs while planting seeds for long-term stability. What We Do: • Prevent utility shutoffs and restore heat and electricity • Stabilize housing by providing emergency rental and back rent assistance • Support flood recovery and disaster response • Help unhoused families and individuals move into permanent housing • Community Resource and Food navigation and • Application support.

Provides financial assistance of up to $10,000 to eligible crime victims who have experienced a financial loss as the direct result of a crime, as long as the loss is not reimbursable through other sources, such as insurance. When appropriate, money is available to pay for the following expenses: medical and dental care, counseling for victims and family members, funeral expenses, lost wages due to time missed from work, other expenses such as prescriptions, eyeglasses, and limited transportation costs. If death occurs as a result of the crime, legal dependents may receive temporary living expenses.

Provides safe, confidential, temporary emergency shelter and supportive services.

Provides free college courses for Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) staff and Vermonters who are incarcerated, including textbooks and fees.

Places individuals in paid community service positions, up to 20 hours per week, for the purpose of training and improvement of skills that may lead to permanent employment. Participants may be offered supportive services such as transportation, counseling, work equipment, and other supports.

Provides a fixed-route bus service that can deviate up to 1/4 mile from the regular route.

Fields housing discrimination complaints. People with credible issues covered by fair housing law are then referred to the Vermont Human Rights Commission, HUD, or Vermont Legal Aid, as appropriate. Also provides public advocacy, outreach, and education on fair housing issues, including publishing information, such as the Guide to Fair Housing for Families in Vermont, and conducting trainings and workshops about fair housing law.

Administers the registration and title of all motor vehicles. Issues Vermont license plates. Issues Vermont Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses, School Bus Driver Licenses, and Motorcycle Driver Licenses. Provides driver training information and issues ID (Non-driver) cards and Learner Permits. Provides school bus driver training information and administers scheduling for driver's license exams. Provides a full service, low-cost, family health and wellness facility with a gym where individuals can participate in organized fitness classes led by trained instructors and/or make use of a free weights area, Nautilus equipment, cardio equipment, an indoor tennis court and racquetball courts, as well as a lounge area with pool tables and pingpong for unstructured play and socializing.
