Assists individuals with regaining their licenses while they are paying off fines and fees. Program participants work with diversion staff to develop contracts that include a payment plan. Participants must satisfy the Vermont Judicial Bureau and the Department of Motor Vehicles requirements. Successful completion of program leads to criminal charges being dismissed.

Maintains a listing of clinical trials to help the general public and patients in their search. Clinical trials are research studies designed to seek new cures and more effective treatments for diseases. Each study uses patients and otherwise healthy participants, to answer scientific questions and find better ways to prevent, screen for, diagnose, or treat a disease.

Advocates for public policies that promote the well-being of children, youth, and their families. Provides periodic e-newsletters, issue briefs, data reports, fact sheets, and legislative agendas to educate the public on issues affecting Vermont's children and youth. Does not provide representation or individual advocacy.

Offers free and confidential HIV testing and counseling. Tests chiefly use a finger stick, but an oral swab is available if necessary. Results are obtained in 20 minutes.

Provides comprehensive and coordinated long-term care in an individual's home. Services include homemaker assistance, medication management, and assistance with the activities of daily living, including personal care and respite care. Also provides caregiving to clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI’s).

Offers a Pregnancy Group, Parent-Baby Group, and Play Group for Vermonters to meet with other families, share experiences, and learn from local experts. The Pregnancy Group is hosted by a maternal child health nurse and visited by local pregnancy and early childhood specialists. Partners, children, and key supporters are welcome. The Parent-Baby Group is attended by a maternal child health nurse and a lactation professional. Infants, children, partners, and expectant parents welcome. The Play Group includes snack and a story time and is attended by early childhood specialists and is open to families with children from birth to age 5.

Provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient care and 24-hour emergency care. Services include 24-hour physician staffed emergency room services, diagnostic imaging, general medical and surgical services, lab testing, blood supply services, hospital-based outpatient services, disease specific treatment, pain management, adult and children's services.

Offers the services of Certified Recovery Coaches/Peer support specialist, who work both one-on-one with people on all paths to recovery to help them plan and make positive improvement in their lives, as well as with their families. Recovery Coaches also help guide people in recovery to finding resources such as detox and treatment, housing, food, heat, clothing, and transportation, and resources for improving relationships and getting connected with others in recovery with whom they can relate.

Provides wellness information to community members that may include the following: activity and exercise, stress reduction, disease-related support groups, chronic disease self-management, fall prevention, CPR and first aid instruction. Provides Healthier Living Workshops for individuals living with chronic diseases and long term health issues to improve their health and well-being through participation in group exercise activities and health education classes.

Provides an online pediatric health resource library where up-to-the-minute information that is specific to the health, safety, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults is maintained and made available to professionals and parents.

Administers the registration and title of all motor vehicles. Issues Vermont license plates. Issues Vermont Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses, School Bus Driver Licenses, and Motorcycle Driver Licenses. Provides driver training information and issues ID (Non-driver) cards and Learner Permits. Provides school bus driver training information and administers scheduling for driver's license exams. Provides a visor card to help individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing communicate with law enforcement officers if they are pulled over while driving. There are tips for how officers should communicate with the cardholder, followed by options that cardholders can point to indicating how best to communicate (writing, texting, lip-reading, etc.) with them. On the back, there are graphics with one-word labels that officers can point to under “I need to see your” (license, registration, insurance, other) and “Violations.” The last section is “Help” and lists options for cardholders to show the officer what they need (medical, lost, tow, etc.).

Offers apprenticeships in the following areas: Certified Public Bookkeeper, Manufacturing Production Technician, Medical Assisting, Medical Records Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician. All offerings pair credit-bearing classes with on-the-job learning.

Provides an interactive decision-support process that helps individuals in need of long term care and their families understand the services and assistance available in the community. Helps the individual identify their strengths, needs, preferences, and unique circumstances to weigh the pros and cons of available alternatives. Includes a discussion of the factors to consider when making long term care decisions, and information about the range of long term care support options (such as personal care, transportation, and medication management). Also helps to identify resources that can help to pay for services. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides licenses to establishments that prepare and serve food or offer lodging to the public for more than one day a month. Provides information about Vermont restaurant and lodging rules. The establishments licensed by VDH include, but are not limited to, restaurants, delis, bakeries, seafood vendors, food caterers, fair stands, B&Bs, children's camps, grocery stores, and hotels. Accepts complaints about restaurant sanitation, as well as reports of possible food poisoning.

Provides sheltering and adoption services for stray or surrendered pets. All cats, dogs, and rabbits at the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated as appropriate, and undergo behavior modification as necessary before being adopted out. Adoption includes a voucher for one free examination with a local veterinarian.

Provides information about Medicare, determines eligibility for Medicare, and accepts applications for enrollment in Medicare. Also provides a way to get a replacement of a lost or stolen Medicare card.

Provides pet food assistance to help homebound seniors receiving Meals on Wheels keep their companion animals well nourished and healthy.

Administers Medicare and partners with state governments to administer Medicaid. Pursues cases of alleged Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Provides a database of doctors who accept Medicare.

Provides a crisis intervention and assessment program that includes telephone or face-to-face consultation and assessment for admission to local and/or statewide residential crisis programs. Also provides crisis intervention referral services and follow-up. When deemed warranted by the emergency intervention specialist, individuals may be placed in a Public Inebriate Program bed, a safe alternative to incarceration for individuals who require ongoing supervision during withdrawal from drug and/or alcohol intoxication.

Issues Vermont's Disabled Plates and Windshield Placards that allow individuals to park in designated spaces in public areas or in front of their homes. Also allows parking for unlimited periods of time in time limit zones as well as parking in metered parking areas without paying fees.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations.

Provides case management, advocacy, information, social support, emergency financial assistance, housing assistance, transportation assistance, education, information and referral to social service organizations.
