COMMUNITY CLOTHING CLOSET | SPRINGFIELD AREA PARENT CHILD CENTER

Provides used children's clothing. Clothing ranges in size from infants to size 16. Clothing for donations can be accepted during business hours or by other arrangements. Provision of winter clothing is dependent upon types and sizes that have been donated. Enter the building in the back. Located in the basement of the Springfield Church of Christ in Springfield. Winter clothing consists of boots, hats, mittens, jackets, and ski pants.

RUTLAND NEIGHBORS | RUTLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Provides a free resting place where individuals can escape the elements and have a nutritious meal. Also includes a small emergency food pantry and a clothing closet with winter jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, boots, scarves, hats, and socks. Also provides a warming center and a cooling center depending on extreme weather. They provide a Thanksgiving and Christmas Meal. Meal is served at 10:30am

FREE WINTER GIVEAWAY | H.O.P.E.

Collects and distributes new and donated adult and children's winter coats and accessories. Bagged donations need to be labled "Winterwear Drive Donation" and can be left in the outside black shed marked "Winterwear Collection". Limited adult coats. After Giveaway, remaining clothing is available outside of store in the black sheds.

FREE STORE | HELPING HANDS FREE STORE VERMONT

Provides used clothing, shoes, household items, kitchen items, office supplies, personal care items, pet supplies, small appliances and lamps, outdoor equipment such as shovels and rakes, and baby items. Accepts donations that are clean and in good condition. One visit allowed per week. Families may take up to 25 items per visit and individuals may take up to 15 items per visit. Donations that cannot be accepted: large furniture, electronics, mattresses and bed pillows.

CHARTER HOUSE SHELTER | CHARTER HOUSE COALITION

Provides shelter for individuals year round. Individuals are provided with a cot, linens, and essential items. Continental breakfast, lunch, and evening meals are provided every day for individuals. Clothing, winter wear, transportation support, and referrals to professional services are also provided. Individuals are required to work with an assigned housing case manager. Guests must complete a house agreement and confirm they are homeless as outlined by HUD guidlines. All guests must be in the building by 11:00pm, at which time the doors will be locked; exceptions may be made for persons who work night shifts.

PROJECT HAPPY HOLIDAYS | BETHEL AREA FOOD SHELF

Offers a holiday food box for families and individuals. Box contains holiday meal items, including a turkey, and other holiday meal foods. Winter clothing, toys, and other items are also available. Donations of new and unwrapped toys can be made November 15-December 5 at the following locations: Bethel Food Shelf, participating businesses (look for the PHH drop box), or the White Church Hall on December 5, 2025; Monetary donations are used to support the event. Make checks payable to the Bethel Area Food Shelf or contact Cindy for electronic donations.

WINDSOR RESOURCE CENTER | MOUNT ASCUTNEY HOSPITAL AND HEALTH CENTER

Connects individuals to a wide variety of social and state agency services and assists individuals with accessing services and financial assistance. Also provides office space from which social services agencies and state agencies can provide direct services, as well as public meeting spaces, public access to computers, a free Giving Room clothing closet, small food pantry, and a Promise Room which provides space for prevention initiatives. They offer space as a cooling center in the summer and a warming center in the winter. Year round laundry and shower facilities are also available. Items in the Giving Room clothing closet can include: clothing of all sizes, winter coats, hats and mittens/gloves, shoes/boots, small bags, books, puzzles, and some personal hygiene items. Call ahead to donate clothing. Because it is a small space, they can only accept donations if there is room.

KIDS IN COATS PROGRAM | UNITED WAY OF WINDHAM COUNTY

Provides funding for clothing vouchers for coats, mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, boots and other winter clothing. Funding for vouchers is distributed to schools within the four regional supervisory unions where vouchers will then be available. The warm clothing vouchers program is a limited resource and availability of vouchers at individual Windham County public schools is dependent upon funding allocations.

KATHY'S COATS | CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CHURCH

Collects and distributes donated winter coats. Coats for donation can be dropped off anytime at Cornerstone Community Church. The foyer is open 24/7 and there are bins for coats. They can also be dropped off at the Milton Family Center and New Life Christian Church.

Offers free clothing to individuals and families. Provision of fall and winter clothing is dependent upon types and sizes that have been donated. Located in the basement of the Second Congregational United Church of Christ in Jeffersonville. Use Maple Street entrance. Clothing for donations should be for the Fall and Winter season. No footwear is accepted. They can be brought to food shelf during regular hours.
