Offers weekly home visits of 2-3 hours for three consecutive months by trained volunteers to families with new babies. Provides support, health and safety information, practical assistance, and information about appropriate community resources. Practical assistance may include respite child care, transportation as available, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and errand running. Also serves expectant mothers on bed rest. Self-referrals are the most common form of contact. Serves families within 40 miles distance from Lebanon, NH.

FAMILY PLAY PROGRAMS | JANET S MUNT FAMILY ROOM

Provides drop-in parent-child interactive play programs with parent education and support, including Family Play Program with ESL classes for caregivers, projects to promote cross-cultural relationships, and a summer gardening/outdoor education component. Others include Early Months, for mothers and babies during the first few months after birth and Crawlers, Waddlers & Toddlers, for parents and early toddlers. Parenting classes are periodically offered. Additional workshops for adults also are available, including occasional computer literacy classes. Provides snacks and lunch. Workshops for adults include cooking, movement, and book group. Special activities for children include sing-a-longs, story time, nature play, sandbox, and movement. The Family Room also provides a preschool during the school year.

HEART PROGRAM | NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Provides a perinatal home visiting program that increases expectant and new parents' knowledge of and access to supports and services for their families. HEART home visitors are able to offer an array of support services, access to concrete supports, and referrals to additional programming and services. This program provides counseling, in the home, or via telemental health (online), or the office setting for mothers. For families who need a higher level of care, home visitors are able to refer families to their HEART home visiting perinatal mental health clinicians. The HEART In-Home Counseling program clinicians can address a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD following a traumatic birth experience. This program also offers various groups connected to the perinatal period, pregnant and postpartum workshops, and support for non-birthing partners.
