Provides temporary homes, food, medical, and behavioral care for stray or surrendered animals. Provides adoption services, pet food pantry, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, volunteer, and educational opportunities. Assists low-income owners with vet bills via a no-interest loan program. Also provides a Trap, Neuter, Release program (TNR) that aids farmers and others who willingly care for unowned cats in barns and other outbuildings, by trapping, vaccinating, spaying or neutering, and treating (if necessary), and then returning cat(s) back to their colony (group) in the wild or barn.

Administers the Vermont Spay-Neuter Incentives Program, which issues vouchers that allow income-eligible Vermonters to have their cats and dogs spayed or neutered for a low co-pay. Once applicant is found eligible, vouchers will be received within 5 days IF application is fully completed. Voucher must be used within 60 days. There is a $27 co-pay per animal at the vet's office.

Provides financial assistance for emergency vet services on a case by case basis. Services covered include everything except spay and neutering. Financial assistance is paid to the service provider.
Provides pet adoption services; Community education about pet care; Shelter for animals who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered by their owners; Spay and Neutering programs; and Investigation of reported cruelty and neglect of animals. Also offers Sophie's Seniors, a special reduced-rate adoption and support program for older adults, and a petfood food shelf for those unable to properly feed their animals. With Jake's Friends Fund, provides financial assistance with veterinary expenses for pet owners in need. Provides follow-up to reports of animal cruelty and negligence, which may include educating the owners about animal care practices or state statutory requirements; assisting owners to improve conditions; facilitating animal surrender if owner chooses to relinquish animal; and working with States Attorneys Office in cases that require prosecution. Cruelty to Animals Investigation
Provides eligible pet owners with expense assistance for one-time veterinary problems. Program is not for routine or recurrent veterinary care. Payment for services is sent directly to veterinary practice.
Provides support and assistance to help pet owners in need to obtain veterinary expenses for their animal companion. Free provision of animal food and litter is dependent upon availability.
