Technical Career Centers offer classes and trainings in specific technical occupations, skilled and semiskilled trades for individuals who have graduated from high school or the equivalent. Included are programs that prepare people for careers in areas as diverse as business, cosmetology, computer science, allied health occupations, auto mechanics, building trades, and manufacturing. Centers also offer classes to the public that augment self sufficiency in areas such as home gardening, food preservation, cooking, computer use, chainsaw safety, and more. Provides advanced manufacturing and industry-recognized credentials through apprenticeship programs that offer a range of courses. Programs offered are Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeships, Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeships, and SolidWorks & CNC Machining Certificates. Telephone to determine eligibility. Interest forms are available on the website. Select classes of interest for registering. The apprenticeship courses take place at the VTC Williston campus. The SolidWorks & CNC Machining Certificate courses are held at River Valley Tech, in Springfield. Courses are held in the late afternoon or evening so students can usually get their employers to adjust their schedules to accommodate the class schedules. If student is not currently employed in manufacturing, VTC can help steer them in the direction of current openings.
