The shelter attempts to reunite lost pets with owners. The Foster Care Program provides food and supplies for volunteers willing to provide temporary foster care for pregnant cats and dogs, animals recovering from minor surgery, and animals in extreme stress in the shelter environment.

Host home providers are provided with a respite budget for periods of relief or rest from caregiving.

Provides a crisis intervention and assessment program that includes telephone or face-to-face consultation and assessment for admission to local and/or statewide residential crisis programs. When deemed warranted by the emergency intervention specialist, individuals may be placed in a Public Inebriate Program bed, a safe alternative to incarceration for individuals who require ongoing supervision during withdrawal from drug and/or alcohol intoxication.

Provides comprehensive community-based services that include personal support and case management, vocational and skill acquisition training, and family support services.

Provides a way to report fish and wildlife violations. Callers do not have to reveal their names, testify in court, or sign a deposition. Rewards are paid if an arrest is made or if a citation is issued.

Inspects and licenses pet sellers, livestock dealers, transporters, and packers. Registers animal shelters, rescue organizations, certified euthanasia technicians, and their facilities. Provides a way to file a report about poultry and other domestic birds that died from a disease. Also publishes information about various diseases that affect livestock and poultry.

Provides comprehensive services to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other pervasive developmental disorders. Individuals are assigned professional service coordinators who are responsible for consumer's Individualized Support Agreements, and for assisting them in achieving success in the community. Services include personal support and case management, specialized residential programs; psychiatric and medical care, vocational and skill acquisition training, family support services, and support services to individuals in nursing homes. Provides a spectrum of supported living arrangements to meet the needs of each person. Clinical services for individuals include provision of a psychiatrist to provide evaluation, medication checks, and after-hours consultation on medication issues. Also provides care coordination services.

Provides public awareness and education to promote community wellness and to prevent the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, with an emphasis on youth substance use prevention. Collaborates with other wellness programs, schools, and communities to help them promote healthy behaviors and reduce health risks.

Administers Medicare and partners with state governments to administer Medicaid. Pursues cases of alleged Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Provides a database of doctors who accept Medicare.

Offers weekly home visits of 2-3 hours for three consecutive months by trained volunteers to families with new babies. Provides support, health and safety information, practical assistance, and information about appropriate community resources. Practical assistance may include respite child care, transportation as available, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and errand running. Also serves expectant mothers on bed rest.

Provides education and support, including support of individual developmental goals, and transition planning for services after early intervention. Coaches families and early care and education providers around individual child supports.

Provides information and education about depression and suicide to the public. Promotes professional education for the recognition and treatment of depressed and suicidal individuals and supports programs for suicide survivor treatment, research and education.
