Provides a program that empowers Vermonters to lead healthier lives through hands-on nutrition education. The Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is usually a six-session series held in home, school, or community settings. An online nutrition education series, Eat Smart, Move More, is also offered and participants can access lessons at their own pace while receiving one-on-one support from their closest EFNEP Educator via phone calls, zoom meetings, and emails. Topics covered may include meal planning and preparation, food budgeting with a limited income, food safety and preservation, and nutrition tips.

Coordinates/Provides transportation to medical appointments, as well as dental, vision, counseling, prescription pick-up, and other covered transportation services for eligible Medicaid recipients. Offers volunteer driving opportunities.

Provides hospice care in a home-like setting. Hospice staff and volunteers provide care and support during the last weeks of a person's life. Support services are provided for family and friends, including a bereavement support group.

Reach First helps families overcome temporary, short-term financial crises and avoid the need for longer-term assistance, providing case management, financial help, and support services. Reach Ahead helps families transition from Vermont's Reach Up or Post-Secondary Education (PSE) programs to working, with supports to help maintain a job, including cash incentives for working and help paying for car repairs, work clothes, and work supplies, a 100% childcare subsidy, and a cash benefit for food.

Offers curriculum-based programs that work with the entire family throughout childhood and into teen years. Teaches parents how to understand their children's developmental needs and behaviors, positively communicate with their children, preventing child sexual abuse, and managing their stress. Also offers guidance to parents with substance use disorders and ways to prevent substance misuse in their children.

Provides tents, blankets, rain ponchos, and other items necessary for living outdoors.

Provides registration renewal "express services" online, at participating town clerks' offices, and at DMV kiosks within some branch offices. Services provided include: Vehicle Registration Renewal, Duplicate Registration Certificate, and Change of Address. Kiosks also offer Replacement Vehicle Registration.

Provides counseling, treatment, and recovery support. Includes collaboration with the clients’ primary care doctor, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professional, and referrals for additional levels of care as needed.

Provides in-home pediatric care with skilled nursing, therapies, and specific procedures. Provides physical therapists to do growth and development assessments, to establish exercise routines, to monitor progress, and to assist families with obtaining adaptive equipment. Also offers support and information to parents and family members who have previously experienced the loss of an infant.

Provides a safe, stable drug and alcohol-free home and supportive services with the goal of helping residents to transition to independent living and reassimilation into communities. Home environments are "family-style" where residents support one another in their recovery and cooperate to manage the household.

Recruits volunteers and places them in community service jobs at non-profit organizations based on their experience, knowledge, and skills. Volunteers receive training, assessment, recognition for their contributions, and supplemental insurance coverage.

Provides money management counseling services that include credit counseling, debt counseling, personalized budgeting, student loan counseling, bankruptcy counseling, and financial literacy training.

Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helps with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Offers reparative panels as a form of community-sponsored probation that brings convicted offenders before a volunteer panel of citizens as part of their sentencing process. Panels work with victims and offenders to identify the harm caused by the crime and how that harm can be repaired while holding the offender responsible and accountable.

Provides shelter for animals who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered by their owners. Services include animal adoption, pet food pantry, spay/neuter services, community education about pet care, and reporting of cruelty and neglect of animals to local authorities.

Offers parent education workshops, classes, and parent support groups.

Provides a recreational therapy riding program where students are able to care for horses, exercise, learn to focus their attention and energy, carry out increasingly complex directions, and interact with volunteers and other riders.

Offers free and confidential HIV testing and counseling. Tests chiefly use a finger stick, but an oral swab is available if necessary. Results are obtained in 20 minutes.

Provides occasional nursing and rehabilitative therapies in the patient's home. Skilled Nursing Services include nursing care, case management, and client and family education. Provides clients with social workers who offer coordination of community services and resources, client and family counseling, and navigating the health care system. Licensed Nursing Assistants provide home health assistance, including personal care assistance, light housekeeping, and help with normal daily living activities.

Provides Work Incentives Counselors who can help individuals decide whether to work, keep necessary benefits while they work, and avoid work/benefits conflicts. The program is also available to youth in high school who are in transition to adult life. Youth and their families can receive accurate information about the impact of employment on all Federal and State benefits they receive. Provides the Vermont Work/Benefits Helpline.
