HEART PROGRAM | NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Provides a perinatal home visiting program that increases expectant and new parents' knowledge of and access to supports and services for their families. HEART home visitors are able to offer an array of support services, access to concrete supports, and referrals to additional programming and services. This program provides counseling, in the home, or via telemental health (online), or the office setting for mothers. For families who need a higher level of care, home visitors are able to refer families to their HEART home visiting perinatal mental health clinicians. The HEART In-Home Counseling program clinicians can address a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD following a traumatic birth experience.

FAMILY PLAY PROGRAMS | JANET S MUNT FAMILY ROOM

Provides drop-in parent-child interactive play programs with parent education and support, including Family Play Program with ESL classes for caregivers, projects to promote cross-cultural relationships, and a summer gardening/outdoor education component. Others include Early Months, for mothers and babies during the first few months after birth and Crawlers, Waddlers & Toddlers, for parents and early toddlers. Parenting classes are periodically offered. Additional workshops for adults also are available, including occasional computer literacy classes. Provides snacks and lunch.

Provides a trained, background checked virtual mentor to any family with a newborn in order to reduce isolation, answer questions, and connect with community resources. Available via cell, Zoom, Facetime, etc.

MY TIME | VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - DIVISION OF SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAMS

Offers a free, 10-session educational support group that serves pregnant and parenting women who are at risk for alcohol or drug misuse, or who are experiencing the effects of a partners' substance misuse. The group helps women understand the risks associated with substance use behavior and introduces strategies to overcome the challenges of substance use and raising a family. The program is designed to provide knowledge, build skills, and offer a safe and caring climate for pregnant and parenting women. Child care and meals are provided during program sessions.

FAMILY SUPPORT HOME VISITING | FAMILY CENTER OF WASHINGTON COUNTY

Offers parenting education, answers child development questions, provides information about housing, budgeting, and other concerns new parents have at times and places convenient to families. Family Support Home Visitors are available for those parents who are unable to travel to appointments or who are reluctant to meet outside of their homes.
