THE VERMONT SUICIDE PREVENTION CENTER | CENTER FOR HEALTH AND LEARNING, THE

Promotes and supports the implementation of effective evidence-based suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention programs and strategies in schools, communities, and Vermont institutions of higher education. The organization does not provide crisis intervention for clients who need assistance. Direct crisis resources, including hotlines, can be found on the VTSPC website.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SUPPORT SERVICES | NORTHERN LIGHTS AT CCV

Provides information, guidance, and problem-solving assistance to childcare providers and after school programs. Consultants may help diagnose organizational strengths and weaknesses, as well as identify and develop best practices. Northern Lights' programs offer certification for each Level of the Career Ladder or Pathway completed and early childhood and after school credentials include: Program Director Credential and After School Professional Credential.

Provides technical assistance, professional development training and school curricula development designed to increase the knowledge and skills of participants regarding particular management techniques or strategies that promote the health and well-being of children, families, schools and communities. Priority Health Areas include: Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drug Education; Mental and Emotional Health; Community Health; Safety, Injury, and Violence Prevention; School Health; Sexual Health; and Suicide Prevention.

FIRST CALL FOR CHITTENDEN COUNTY | HOWARD CENTER

Provides a telephone and/or face-to-face response to individuals in crisis. This service offers an immediate intervention and suicide prevention response by mental health counselors and connects individuals to resources that best fit the needs of their particular situations. Within the First Call program there are specialized services such as crisis case management, crisis respite, support services when a tragic event impacts a child, as well as Safety Net, an urgent response service for families impacted by incarceration. First Call also provides education, support, and "Gatekeeper Training" to community providers to promote prompt and appropriate response to mental health crises.

Provides support to personal care homes, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing communities to stabilize operations, and to help navigate crises, compliance, and culture change.

VT FRESH | VERMONT FOODBANK

Increases access to fresh fruits and vegetables by offering cooking demonstrations and taste tests to visitors at food shelves and other community locations, while also increasing capacity of food shelves to stock fresh produce. The program provides support to community food shelves with strategies that help make it easier for food shelf visitors to choose fruits and vegetables. Produces a handbook that provides information on over 40 fruits and vegetables grown in Vermont that includes their nutritional value, storage advice, preparation tips, and recipes.
