Provides resources, advice, and training for responding to animal needs in the event of a disaster. Other DARTS in Vermont include Rutland Area Disaster Animal Response Team (RADART), and Guardian Angels DART (GADART), which are not formally affiliated with VDART. Pet owners are encouraged to communicate with their local emergency manager via the Town Clerk for guidance on local response plans.

Disaster Services for Animals
Provides shelter, medical treatment, and other basic care for surrendered and stray animals, including dogs, cats, and small pets. Facilitates pet adoptions, with adoption counseling to best match shelter animals with appropriate households. Also offers disaster preparedness services including education and emergency boarding. Provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Appointment is required to surrender an animal. Welcomes donations of pet food and pet supplies (towels, blankets, food and water bowls, nail clippers).
