Provides a basket of food and gifts during the holiday season for families in need. Donations of non-perishable food, new hats, mittens, and toys are accepted. Toy, hat, and mitten donations can be dropped off in the red "Toys for Kids" barrels throughout Franklin and Grand Isle counties. Monetary donations may sent to United Way of Northwest Vermont, 412 Farrell Street, Suite 200, South Burlington 05403. Checks should be made out to UW of NWVT with "Operation Happiness" in the memo line of the check. Volunteers should call United Way of Northwest Vermont.

Provides Christmas gifts to children and Christmas food baskets to residents in need. Accepts donations of money for provision of food basket items and new toys. Donation checks should be made payable to the Northeast Kingdom Santa Fund and mailed or given to Passumpsic Savings Bank. Checks and toys may also be dropped off at the Saint Johnsbury Fire Station. Toy guns, war toys, bicycles, and fitted clothing are NOT accepted.

PROJECT HAPPY HOLIDAYS | BETHEL AREA FOOD SHELF

Offers a holiday food box for families and individuals. Box contains holiday meal items, including a turkey, and other holiday meal foods. Winter clothing, toys, and other items are also available. Donations of new and unwrapped toys can be made November 15-December 5 at the following locations: Bethel Food Shelf, participating businesses (look for the PHH drop box), or the White Church Hall on December 5, 2025; Monetary donations are used to support the event. Make checks payable to the Bethel Area Food Shelf or contact Cindy for electronic donations.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Also provides the makings of Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, and opportunities for holiday donations and volunteering. No individual in need is denied services. Donations are also accepted at drop boxes at West River Provisions, Jamaica Community Church, Wardsboro Yoked Parish; and Wardsboro Town Clerk's Office.

TOYS FOR TOTS | TOYS FOR TOTS

Coordinates distribution of holiday toys to families in need. Collects new, unwrapped toys in collection bins in locations throughout the Upper Valley region. Coordinates with local service organizations for distribution of donated toys and also opens a seasonal central distribution center for qualifying families to pick up toys. Local referral centers will provide Toys for Tots with a list of everyone that has already received toys and once a family has received from one organization they cannot receive from another or from the central distribution center. Participating families are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes for transporting toys home. Visit website for Covid-related protocols.
