Provides camp scholarships for day or overnight camps. Assists with matching child's interests with appropriate camps. Assists families with completion of camp registration and medical forms.
Offers after-school enrichment programs in Brattleboro (serving Brattleboro and Guilford), and in Dummerston. Also offers summer camp programs for children in and out of the region in Springfield, with bussing from many towns. The Y-ASPIRE after-school programs run all 180 days of the school year and include programming on in-service days, parent-teacher days, and school vacation days. Y Day Camp program runs for 8 weeks in summer when school is not in session. Also available are "specialty camps" like mountain biking and adventure camp; a Leader in Training and a Counselor in Training programs.
Offers programs that introduce girls and gender-expansive youth to technical occupations, skilled trades, and empowerment activities to help them build confidence, think critically, and develop new skills. Rosie's Girls is offered as both a summer camp and afterschool program for middle school youth. Women Can Do is a one-day career exploration experience for high school girls and LIFT (Launching Inclusive Futures in Trades), is a one-week trades program in the summer for high school students. Additional youth programs include Career Challenge Days, and other programming with regional technical and career centers.
Provides a broad selection of recreational opportunities and leisure time activities. Includes children's day camps, which may offer subsidies through the Family Center of Washington County. Applications for summer day camp subsidies must be made through the Family Center of Washington County. Submit early to receive confirmation of subsidy before child begins camp. Application forms can be downloaded from Recreation Department website. The website has active links to the recreation schedule and registration, facility reservations, and pool memberships for both residents and non-residents.
