CONSUMER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM | OFFICE OF THE VERMONT ATTORNEY GENERAL

Provides a consumer complaint line for reporting incidents of consumer fraud or deception and investigates and prosecutes violations of Vermont's consumer laws. Issues scam alerts to inform the public of fraudulent telephone and Internet activities and mediates disputes between consumers and businesses. Automotive Consumer Assistance Program (AUTOCAP) handles complaints about vehicles purchased from a Vermont Auto Dealers Association (VADA) member. This program also handles complaints consumers may have with their propane company. Provides information and advise about telemarketing, charitable solicitation and debt collection calls. Sign-Up to automatically receive scam alerts through the VT Alert website.

VT-ALERT | VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY - VERMONT EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Provides the public with an emergency alert messaging service via mobile phone, land line, text, and e-mail. Alerts include information about disasters, weather advisories, fire advisories, traffic bulletins, road closures bulletins, Amber Alerts, product safety alerts, hazardous materials advisories, and public health notifications. Individuals are able to choose receipt of alerts for the entire state or for specific areas within Vermont that they wish to be contacted about, such as their home locations, their relatives' home locations and their places of employment. NATIONAL CREDIT UNION ASSOCIATION | NATIONAL CREDIT UNION ADMINISTRATION

Insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, protects the members who own credit unions, and charters and regulates federal credit unions. Provides services through its online Consumer Assistance Center, which include answers to questions, a complaint process, and a toll-free hotline. Informs consumers about fraud alerts and prevention strategies through its Fraud Hotline and online Fraud Prevention Center. Provides a Financial Literacy & Education webpage with links to informational material. Fraud Hotline requests callers to leave a message, which they will return as soon as possible. For credit union complaints, first try to resolve the problem directly with the credit union. This may involve contacting the credit union's customer service department, senior credit union management, or the supervisory committee. If the issue is not resolved, contact NCUA’s Consumer Assistance Center for help by completing the NCUA Consumer Assistance Form.
