FARMWORKER HOUSING REPAIR LOAN PROGRAM | CHAMPLAIN HOUSING TRUST

Provides no interest, forgivable loans of up to $30,000 to make necessary improvements on farm worker housing in order to eliminate health, safety and/or accessibility issues. Typical health and safety related repairs/improvements can include, but are not limited to: wastewater systems, air sealing and insulation, noise mitigation measures, overcrowding relief, food prep and storage improvements, mold remediation, electrical/plumbing upgrades, and roof replacements.

HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM | REBUILDING TOGETHER - GREATER BURLINGTON

Provides volunteer workers who complete home repairs at no cost to homeowner twice each year on a first come, first served basis dependent on meeting program requirements and available funding and volunteers. Program focuses on one-day projects including painting, caulking, plumbing, electric, roof repair, step repair and replacement, and access ramps. They are generally unable to service emergency repairs. For faster service, please fill out application found on website. Home repairs occur in the spring and fall. Individuals residing in the home or visiting on the workday who are physically able will work alongside the volunteers.

HOME MEDICAL EQUIPEMENT | UPWARD MOBILITY

Provides a wide variety of mobility products including stair lifts (sales and installation), lift recliners, motorized scooters, power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, knee walkers, hospital beds, patient lifts and ramps for private homes, public schools or commercial enterprises. Also provides rentals of recliners, scooters, knee walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds and ramps, and repairs may types of assistive equipment. Upward Mobility accepts Care Credit. They also work closely with organizations such as Agewell, the Vermont Center for Independent Living, Home Health and Hospice, and more to help secure funding for people with disabilities or those who are low-income.

COVER HOME REPAIR | COVER HOME REPAIR / THE COVER STORE

Provides trained staff with crews of volunteers to work in partnership with low income homeowners to provide urgently needed general carpentry repairs on homes, i.e. roof repair, accessibility ramp construction/installation, and floor repair. Homeowners must meet additional program criteria, including work involvement, and project must be appropriate for volunteers. Repair crews work on weekends. Call to confirm service in your area.
