Provides monthly supplemental nutrition assistance benefits to low-income households to purchase food. Households in which any person is younger than 65 access their benefit using a Vermont Express electronic benefits transfer (EBT) debit card. If everyone in a household is 65 or older, or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), benefits are deposited as cash into the recipient's bank account. Expedited benefits are available in emergencies and other specific situations. EBT cards may also be used to buy fresh, local products at certain farmers' markets in Vermont. A list of farmer's markets that can accept EBT cards is available on the website. In addition, 3SquaresVT benefits may be used for seeds and plants that grow fruit and vegetables at any retailer or farmer's market that accepts EBT cards.

Provides rescue services to dogs at risk, placing them in foster homes and ultimately connecting them to adoptive households. Offers education and training to individuals and families on behavior modification, pet care, and pet owner responsibilities. Also provides volunteer opportunities, including fostering. Does not provide a shelter; rescued animals are fostered in private homes. Offers a Senior to Senior Program matching older adults with older dogs.

Provides free parent education and support via regularly scheduled home visits. Conducted virtually and in person.

Provides assistance for people who need housing, including information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to provide for insurance, utility costs, and other requirements related to paying for housing. Coordinates with other providers in the community to help individuals and families obtain or maintain housing. May offer limited financial assistance with rent, rental deposit, and other payments. Also provides information on tenant rights and responsibilities.

Offers Vermont high school students the opportunity to enroll full time at any of CCV’s 12 locations during the fall and spring of their senior year for a combined total of 8-10 classes (24+ credits). Credits apply to both high school completion and college. Classes may be online or in-person.

Works with households to resolve emergencies involving home heat and electrical disconnection notices using programs and funds available and helping with applications. Electric heat assistance is limited to households with primary heat source of electricity or electricity that is essential to keeping other types of heating systems operational. The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Accepts comments from citizens and provides information related to the President's policies and programs.

Provides a full range of supportive services for individuals with a limited life expectancy, and their families. Also provides comprehensive Palliative and support care to individuals in need of pain and other symptom management whether or not they have a life limiting illness.

Provides shelter to lost and unwanted pets, matches pets to be adopted with appropriate individuals and families, provides discounts for older pets to older adopters, and maintains information about local animal control contacts and other animal shelters to assist with finding lost pets.

Provides nurses and/or other trained professionals who visit the homes of women during pregnancy and after childbirth to help them improve their personal health and development during the prenatal period and learn to care for their infant. Services include at-home assessments for expectant mothers and infants, postpartum assessments, newborn evaluations, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, parenting information, family adjustment support, skilled nursing care if needed, and assistance with coordination of family services.

Provides advice, referrals, or assistance with many types of civil legal problems. Types of assistance include relief from abuse, evictions, foreclosures, public benefits problems, housing, discrimination, and debt collection issues. May also be assisted with representing themselves in court and referrals to lawyers or other agencies.

Provides new and/or used clothing and household goods. Also provides free clothing and household goods to families in need.

Provides supplemental food for families with young children. WIC also provides breastfeeding support and nutrition education. Participants can get Farm to Family coupons to use at local farmers' markets.

Provides individual therapy to those who have been impacted by sexual harm and/or intimate partner violence (IPV). Therapy services can include ongoing counseling, Sexual Assault Nurse Examination (SANE) follow-up, or crisis stabilization sessions, based on each individual's needs.

Provides resources, advice, and training for responding to animal needs in the event of a disaster.

Provides management and surveillance of wildlife diseases including rabies, avian influenza, and chronic wasting disease. Offers a Vermont-specific rabies hotline in partnership with the Vermont Department of Health. Responds to questions and concerns about nuisance wildlife.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Provides home delivery of pantry items to qualifying individuals.

Provides tax information and assistance with tax filing preparation and e-filing of federal and state income tax returns, as well as assistance with filing for renters' rebates and homestead declarations. Assists with responding to IRS when tax filing has been unsuccessful and provides clarification and advocacy.

Offers reparative panels as a form of community-sponsored probation that brings convicted offenders before a volunteer panel of citizens as part of their sentencing process. Panels work with victims and offenders to identify the harm caused by the crime and how that harm can be repaired while holding the offender responsible and accountable.

Offers adult education and literacy instruction that provides learners with the opportunity to acquire the education and literacy skills they need either to complete a secondary education or to better achieve post-secondary/career goals. Instruction is provided at six learning centers, as well as at job sites, libraries, and other locations. Services include the following: Functional Literacy Education (Reading, Writing, Math), Computer Literacy, English Language Learning, High School Completion Program, General Education Development (GED) Credentialing, and Career and College Readiness.

Provides one-stop centers that offer an array of employment and training services. Helps job seekers assess skills and interests, explore training options, create a job search plan, write a resume, and find a job. Job seekers can access computers, educational resources, and information on employers. Training and pre-job assistance services include ICAN, which pairs qualified individuals with an employment coordinator to assist them with resources, support services, job readiness skills, case management, and job placement.

Owns and manages affordable, income-based housing units.

Repairs or replaces the home's PRIMARY source of heat. This may include a boiler, electric heater, fireplace, furnace, heat pump, pellet stove, or wood stove. Provides help with application for service.

This peer group provides support to those who are contemplating the decision, or have made the decision to stop trying for a sibling and are finding peace with having one child.
