MENTAL HEALTH URGENT CARE | HOWARD CENTER

Provides a safe, welcoming place for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who don't require emergency department care. Offers immediate help in the form of mental health support, peer counseling, assistance with medications, as well as access to nursing for minor medical issues, and referrals to other community services. Guests may visit more than once, even within the same day. For the first three years, no fee or insurance is required except for medical care. Accepts guests with complex and multiple diagnoses, including individuals with an intellectual disability, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, and more.

HOWARD CENTER

Howard Center is is the designated agency for Chittenden County. It provides acute and long-term care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and other mental health issues, substance use disorders, and/or developmental challenges. Services include emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families; substance use disorder treatment services in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties; alternative education programs; and community-based developmental services.
