HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM | HOMELESS PREVENTION CENTER

Provides assistance with locating, securing and maintaining permanent, affordable housing and will provide intensive case management individually tailored to meet the needs of each family. Counselors work with families to assess needs and to establish housing goals. Provides information and guidance about rental costs, renter responsibilities, how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs, and how to budget for insurance, utility costs and other requirements related to paying for housing. Also provides tenant rights information and landlord/tenant mediation as part of individualized case management.

HOMELESS PREVENTION CENTER

The Homeless Prevention Center is a private non-profit working with Rutland County families and individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness to secure permanent housing. Case management services include assistance with shelter, housing, rental subsidy and life skills, and referrals for food, health care, and employment. Provides financial assistance to income eligible households for rental arrearage to prevent eviction, rental subsidies, and rental security deposits & utilities. Also offers tenancy education.
