Description
Provides technical assistance and support, as well as grant funding to help single-family homeowners create a rental apartment within their home, over a garage, or in other out-buildings. Upon completion of the apartment BAAH remains available for guidance and support. Program is limited to homes in which the owner lives, there is not an existing apartment on property, and where the owner plans to stay for at least five years.

Brattleboro Area Affordable Housing (BAAH) is a non-profit, volunteer-run housing support and advocacy organization serving Windham County, Vermont, and bordering towns in New Hampshire. BAAH works to support affordable housing though state and local advocacy as well as programs to assist landlords, homeowners, and residents. Services include providing short-term housing assistance, helping single family homeowners create apartments in their homes, and managing a low-interest home improvement loan program for landlords and mobile homeowners.
