Provides a voluntary and confidential opportunity for dialogue, understanding, accountability, and amend-making with direct participation of the people who have been affected and other community members. Offers low-level offenders an alternative to the formal court process and gives them a second chance to make amends.

Newport Community and Social Justice Center, a department of NEKCA, is a non-profit restorative justice program that works with citizens, local and state government, and law enforcement agencies to provide restorative responses to crime and conflict for Orleans and Northern Essex Counties. Programs promote restorative practices by increasing community involvement in finding solutions to crime through Reparative Panels, Court Diversion, Conflict Assistance, Community Dialogue, Education and Crime Prevention, as well as Victim Support Services.
