YOUTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE SAFETY PROGRAM | NEKCA COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT
Provides a voluntary program for youth who have received a civil violation for underage drinking or possession of alcohol, or a civil violation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The program consists of a substance abuse assessment, screening, an education program, and community service. Once clients successfully complete the program, their civil violation is voided.

Newport Community and Social Justice Center, a department of NEKCA, is a non-profit restorative justice program that works with citizens, local and state government, and law enforcement agencies to provide restorative responses to crime and conflict for Orleans and Northern Essex Counties. Programs promote restorative practices by increasing community involvement in finding solutions to crime through Reparative Panels, Court Diversion, Conflict Assistance, Community Dialogue, Education and Crime Prevention, as well as Victim Support Services.
