COMMUNITY PROGRAMS | UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE - RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Provides loans and/or grants to municipalities and nonprofit organizations to purchase or expand community facilities and equipment, including public services like hospitals, libraries, fire/police stations and schools, water and waste management, and local food systems. Also provides disaster relief funding for communities and organizations impacted by catastrophes. The Vermont Rural Development Montpelier Office is closed until further notice as a result of the July 2023 flood damage. In Person visits are not available at this time. Consult local Rural Development office for more information on specific programs. Program terms, durations, and funds are subject to specific program type and availability. Loans and grants can be used toward installing a frost-resistant pad under a mobile home.
