Description
Provides adoption services and support that includes, but is not limited to: all-options, non-directive, judgment-free pregnancy counseling; free, independent legal assistance; free, independent counseling before and after pregnancy; and lifelong support. Friends in Adoption (FIA) also works with prospective adoptive parents to help prepare and guide them through the adoption process. FIA specializes in "open" adoptions, where birth parents may have contact to some degree with the adoptive family, but also handles closed adoptions. FIA's website has information about different adoption options and a list of potential adoptive families. FIA also provides adoption training for healthcare/counseling professionals.
