DAIL - VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITIES, AGING AND INDEPENDENT LIVING

The Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) is a department of the Vermont Agency of Human Services (AHS) and provides a variety of services to Vermonters who are over the age of 60 or who have a disability. There are five divisions within the Department, each responsible for different areas of service: Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Adult Services Division, Division of Licensing and Protection, Developmental Disabilities Services Division, and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. These divisions are each listed as separate agencies in the 211 database. Since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Department has played a leading role in ensuring that the State of Vermont achieves compliance with the Act, providing technical assistance, training, and written materials to assist state government and private sector in understanding and meeting the goals of the law.
