EMERGENCY LOANS | CENTER FOR AN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY, THE
Provides an emergency loan program for people whose farms or food production businesses have suffered a devastating loss due to natural disaster. In the wake of the 2023 flood, VFF has raised its Emergency Loan maximum amount from $10,000 to $15,000. This is a zero-interest loan payable over 36-48 months, with an option to defer payments for up to 12 months.

The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) is a non-profit organization serving individuals through programs supporting food access, farm viability, and working landscapes in an effort to build a healthy, regenerative food system. CAE promotes local foods and the people who produce them and assists farmers and food businesses through financing, access to new markets, business advising, and provision of a shared-use commercial kitchen.
