REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE PROGRAM | SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

Allows for an individual or organization that receives Social Security and/or SSI payments and who cannot manage their own money to name a representative to assist with direct management of their benefits. The Social Security Administration assists individuals in finding a representative payee, as well as manages the application process for individuals and organization looking to become representative payees. When friends and family are not able to serve as payee, the Social Security Administration looks for qualified organizations to be a representative payee.
