Description

Develops policy on issues affecting women and their families such as criminal justice reforms; economic development for women; sexual harassment in the workplace and in education; increasing the minimum wage; welfare reform; gender equity in education; and health care reform. Published Commission documents that allow individuals to advocate include: Sexual Harassment in the Workplace; Vermont Workplaces Support Nursing Mothers; Serving on Vermont Boards and Commissions; Guide to Parental and Family Leave; The Legal Rights of Women in Vermont; Workplace Laws for Employers and Workplace Laws for Workers.

VERMONT COMMISSION ON WOMEN

The Vermont Commission on Women (VCW) is a non-partisan state agency dedicated to advancing rights and opportunities for women and girls. Sixteen volunteer commissioners and representatives from organizations concerned with women's rights and well-being inform Vermont policymakers on issues affecting women. VCW also conducts research, educates and informs the public through publications, sponsors conferences, and acts as a resource information clearinghouse on women's issues.
