Description

Supports the successful re-entry into the community of people released from incarceration through Circles of Support and Accountability (COSAs). COSAs are made up of citizen volunteers who work with participants to help them learn to manage the challenges of everyday life, be accountable for their actions and become responsible community members. Volunteer coordinators may help establish links to employment, housing, transportation, and benefit programs. COSA volunteers provide emotional and practical support for the participant to help him or her become a productive, self-supporting citizen, manage the everyday challenges, and be accountable for safe and responsible living.

HARTFORD COMMUNITY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CENTER

Hartford Community Restorative Justice Center, a non-profit restorative justice agency, works with citizens, local and state government, and law enforcement agencies to provide restorative responses to crime and conflict. Programs promote restorative practices by increasing community involvement in finding solutions to crime through Reparative Boards, Community Dialogue Facilitations, Diversion Programs, Conflict Resolution Training, and Community Mediation. Services include mediation for a wide range of community conflicts, restorative processes to all parties in a crime, and community education on conflict resolution for the greater Hartford area.
