ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES | VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH
Provides direct mental health and substance use disorder services via private, non-profit service providers, called Designated Agencies (DAs), located in each region. Every DA offers three adult mental health programs: The Community Rehabilitation and Treatment program serves adults with a severe mental illness; Adult Outpatient Services serves adults who do not have a severe mental health condition, but who are experiencing mental health problems that disrupt their everyday lives; and Emergency Services serves people who need help immediately.

VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH
The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is the state agency responsible for administering mental health programs for adults, children, and families. DMH assigns one Designated Agency in each geographic region of the state to be responsible for providing that area's direct services. DMH is responsible for supervising the operations of hospitals that provide inpatient care for individuals with mental illness, and manages the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital.
