Provides 50/50 matching grants of up to $20,000 to assist municipalities, non-profit organizations, and private owners in restoring and preserving historic buildings. Also administers 50/50 grants of up to $20,000 that are available for the restoration and repair of historic agricultural structures, including barns, and Certified Local Government (CLG) Grants of up to $10,000 toward local preservation projects. Also offers tax credits for historic commercial buildings and maintains an online list of other potential funding sources for historic preservation projects.

The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, part of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, is dedicated to identifying, preserving, and interpreting historic resources on behalf of the citizens of the state and promoting them as significant components of Vermont's communities. Services include State and National Registers, Certified Local Governments (CLG), educational programs, regulatory review, and limited grant and tax credit assistance for historic properties.
