Description

Provides rescue services to dogs at risk, placing them in foster homes and ultimately connecting them to adoptive households. Offers education and training to individuals and families on behavior modification, pet care, and pet owner responsibilities. Also provides volunteer opportunities, including fostering. Does not provide a shelter; rescued animals are fostered in private homes. Offers a Senior to Senior Program matching older adults with older dogs. Provides ongoing support for as many years as the new owners have their pet.

Long Trail Canine Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run rescue organization whose mission is to support overcrowded shelters by helping to minimize the need to euthanize adoptable dogs. Provides rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of abandoned pets into permanent, suitable homes throughout the Northeast.
